I wonder why there are no user reviews. The fact that these are so unbelievably cheap would give me pause. Op, could you share your experience with these strings, and maybe compare them to others you have used? Thanks.

Any free shipping coupon?

My son is the actual guitarist, but he did say that the electric ones were as good as the Dean Markley strings that I have bought him in the past. Which given the price, I'll take 12 packs to one pack of Markley's anyday.

Haven't seen any free ship coups, but maybe someone will find one.

Never heard of Guitar Research or their strings. Maybe OK for a beginner but I'll skip this deal.

Thanks for the post sandc4e. Any other reviews on the quality of these strings? For acoustic guitar, I only play on Martin Fingerstyle medium strings. They cost substantially more, but for the sound, playability, and longevity, they can not be beat.

Guitar Research must be a Sam_Ash brand, since no one else sells it. There are some electric (incl. bass) reviews:

  • I actually have a set of the light gauge strings. I was expecting a fairly cheap set of strings, but the feel is fantastic, there's plenty of tone and pop, and excellent sustain. At this price I can revitalize all of my basses - get some out from under the bed and start playing them again.

  • Consistent, Good Tone, Long Life, Strong...amazing strings and great value

  • Good Tone...Beer wipes off the strings easily. Sounds great after 10 beers

  • I bought a ten pack during a SAM ASHBLOWOUT on a whim. I didn't expect much...Well, I don't believe I've ever played on an all around better string, than these, in my nearly 40 year playing "life". I've bought them all; played them all. These doggone GR strings hold their "bounce" forever! Well, a l-o-n-g time. Hold tune, nice even response, in playability AND sound. Probably sound better with EMGs, but it serves my Late 80's "Jap" Ft. Worth Charvel (by "Jackson") just FINE!! Best Underrated string out there. No doubt!!

  • Flat Sound, Fret Buzz, Poor Pick Up...These strings arent good i put them on and about a week lator they are black and messed up.

I've been playing for 25 years... I bought these (this brand, different gauge) the last time around and when putting the high E string on, it snapped while rapping it around the post as i normally do. This is the absolute first tiem this has ever happened to me. Good for a set to crap around with but for gigging, stick with D'addario.
