I was looking for a pair of garage parking signals to help us position the cars in the garage correctly (so we don't bump the bikes you know....). Came across these on sale at Kohls for 50% off at $6.49 each - ordered 2 for delivery - best price I could find. garagesignals
I picked on of these up 6-8 months ago for about that in-store, maybe a little less. It works ok, but it's pretty flimsy.
There's no weight to it and it's a plastic base. We wound up having to tape it to our concrete garage floor to stop it from tipping over. BUT it works and if I needed another, $6 and change is a fair price.
I get the following error when clicking "continue" during the checkout process:
We're sorry. An error has occurred.
Please click here to go to the Kohls.com home page. If your receive the same error message again during this visit, please contact Kohl's Customer Service toll-free at 866-887-8884.
EDIT - That was with Firefox. Worked fine with IE.
I tie a string from the ceiling with a ball on the other end. The second my windshield hits the ball I know to stop. Cost is free (everything is made from scrap) and nothing to trip over.

or nail a small flat board on the floor and stop when you get to it.-- also a lot less than $6.49, but you might trip over it sometimes.
I ordered three, in case Santa comes through with the 3 car garage I've been asking for.

I don't need it either, but I think my wife needs it. Once she forgot to open the garage door first, backed up, and crashed into the door before she realized it.

wow me too, I guess great minds think alike.
And the kids have fun playing with it when the car is not in the garage.

The ball on a string works best if you attach the string to your overhead garage door and then run it through some eye bolts to the point where you want it to drop. When the door closes, the ball "automatically" goes up to the ceiling and out of the way.

your wallet will be thin if you keep buying these kinds of stuffs.

I do the exact same thing. Here's how I do it: 1. I use three eye bolts - 1 screwed into a tennis ball at one end with fishing line attached, another attached to the ceiling at the point where I want the car to stop, and the third attached to the top of the garage door. 2. I then measure how much fishing line I need between the garage door and the tennis ball, and route the fishing line through the eye bolt on the ceiling before attaching the ends to the ball and garage. 3. When the garage door opens, the ball drops at exactly the spot where the car needs to stop (right in the drivers line of site on the windshield).
This ensures that: 1. My wife knows where to stop 2. The ball is out of the way when the garage is closed, so my dog doesnt pull it out of the ceiling 3. There's very little space between the garage door and the bumper, allowing me much more room to work in the front of the garage 4. It's a cool contraption that friends usually smile at

aztej said: How does one tie the ball to the string?Easy if you use a tennis ball or similar. Pierce the ball, screw in an eye bolt and tie the string to the eye. Of course this means it's not free That's the way I do it.
When I had young kids and grandkids around they couldn't resist take a swing at the ball. So... I bought a short black rubber tie-down strap (used with rope to secure loads in trucks, etc.), cut it in half and tied the string through the eye and let it hang down. One strap allowed me to make 2 hangers. Pretty slick and not too attractive to swingers

What makes you think she'll see the sign when she can't even see the garage door.

I had one and it had so so sensitivity - worth the price
I've seen some folks use one of those golf ball sized wiffle balls tied to the string. When the windshiled touches the wiffle ball ; you know you're in the right spot ; no damage to the windshield ; much cheaper than $6.49

by putting 2 holes in it on opposite sides, a tennis ball works best.

aztej said: How does one tie the ball to the string?Poke a hole all the way through the ball (tennis balls work great) then feed the string all the way in one side and on out the other side. Then tie a knot to keep it from pulling back through (or tie a bead on the end in lieu of a knot).
I have had these in my garage for about 15 years. Much better then having something that physically gets in your way while doing things in the garage, plus no worry about people messing with your tennis ball or whatever you have hanging from the ceiling.
