Best phone out there, forget the Droid or the iPhone. Available (supposedly) on 11/14, no contract, only T-Mobile 3G.

With that kind of price, this phone should be able to play Blu-ray disc and bake cookies.

Instead of posting red maybe the fanboys could post a link to a better deal for this phone, or any unlocked phone with specs anywhere near this phone. Oh yeah, you can't.

Obviously you don't understand the price difference between a 2-year locked phone and an unlocked phone. What's the price on an unlocked Droid?

any coupon to make this deal sweeter?

Moot point - there isn't one - Verizon doesn't use an international standard wireless system. Now, for an iPhone, it would be just south of $400 - $199 for the phone, $175 for the early termination fee, and $25 to get it unlocked. Not that you'd want to...

Does the $699 iSteve play Blu-ray and bake cookies?
Last time I heard even the newest iSteve only carries a 3.2 MP camera without flash and a 320x480 screen.
(not to mention the older ones can't even take video, no autofocus, have a slower brain, cannot use stereo bluetooth...)
And even there is no contract at that price, it's still LOCKED and must use the $30 data plan while others can use $15 data plan or no data plan at all.

you'll calculation is not quite correct.. you need to factor in the activation fee and 1 month usage..so all that combined you are looking at a lot more than $500

32GB iPhone is actually $299. You're still missing half the resolution (800×480 vs 320×480), 5MP camera, real keyboard, Flash support, changeable battery, microSDHC socket, Google Talk, etc.

What I learnt from these years, as a professional mobile developer knowing most phones' specification in and out, you can never convince the iFanboys.

Best phone ever, aehhh, hold on. To be honest, this is not a phone. It's a mobile i-tablet/computer with a phone feature. So much about comparing it to an iPhone, if you want to make it a fair comparison, get out an iBook
Thanks for the link. With bing it becomes even sweeter.

It's funny if you read the article, N900 beats the iPhone in almost every category, but still it's 'Not Close to the iPhone'. Hmmm.....
