Ok guys, I need some advice. I just ordered this laptop for $939 shipped and I'm wondering if I should cancel it and upgrade to this one? Is upgrading from the dual core to quad core and the better graphics card worth the extra $68 (shows $1,007 shipped)? Seems like it...

I would absolutely say yes its worth the extra 68 dollars. Its not that the computer you bought is bad, its just this computer is so much better IMO. Enjoy. Im jealous.
I need 1920X1080 LED, I need 6GB, such a confiuration for dv8t is $1299 after coupon and instant saving, but it's too big. I'm still waiting for ENVY 15 to reduce its price on the Black Friday.
Another choice is to choose Dell, but adding to 6GB will cost a lot. Is't Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processor T9600 2.8GHz 6MB CPU faster than Intel® Core™ i7-720QM Processor (1.6GHz, 6MB Cache)
I would rather stick with Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz or 3.0GHz

no the new I7 is a better processor in all aspects and will outperform the older core 2 duo

The Envy just came out a couple weeks ago so I don't know that you'll be seeing great deals on it as soon as that. Take a look at the HDX16t if you want 1080 screen, and dual core is sufficient. It was just on sale for $699 after coupons with 1080, blu-ray and other free upgrades, and now they're all over eBay.
The following example listing goes for $790 buy-it-now free ship. Get 8% Bing and eBay bucks of $15.80. Brings it down to $711.
HP HDX16t Premium Series Notebook PC # Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit) # Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T6600 (2.2GHz) # 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) # 320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection # Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT # 16.0" diagonal High Definition HP Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920x1080p) # Blu-Ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD+/-R/RW Double Layer # Webcam + Fingerprint Reader with HP Imprint Finish # Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card # 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery # Color: Espresso Black
I7 is a faster/better processor. The price/performance difference still impractical to move to i7 (unless you had money to burn). If the prices for the processor + components has come down considerably then I’d say go i7.
A low-end i7 machine that would have been ~8% - 10% faster will cost 70% more. When you’re talking about milliseconds (or worst case seconds), it just wasn’t worth it.
7% - 10% is an extreme understatement. In the recent article I've read on PC World where they had AMD X4 II, Core 2 Duo Quad, and Intel i5 Core (all desktop CPU)..
In the comparison they did on all major tasks starting with Photoshop, ProShow Producer, several games, etc., the performance i5 Core was 30% better than Core 2 Quad.
Keep in mind one thing that i7 laptop processor..it is a true quad core with hyper thread, which will give it 8 processing power. Core 2 Duo is only 2 core and only 2 processing power.
Another thing to keep in mind that i7 Core laptop is 1.6ghz, yes. However with Turbo Mode, it has the ability to shut off processors it is not using and increase speed on my processor up to 3.0 Ghz.

What are you talking about? Which processors are you comparing? i7/230M for under $1000 is a killer deal.
