Just in, these Beretta Storm Carbines fire the 45 acp round. They are brand new from Beretta. These Semi Auto rifles include the factory Beretta plastic case, 2 8 round magazines, cleaning kit, and a side rail that can be mounted. These guns use the Beretta Cougar magazines. They can be configured for either right handed or left handed shooters. This is a great gun that can easily accept a variety of accessories with the addition of top and side rail kits.

For those who are interested, these were pretty standard props in the new Battlestar Galactica TV show.

**EDIT**
I would guess that the TV show was probably using the 9mm version. If I am not mistaken, these can also use Beretta 92 (army pistol) magazines.

Not a bad price on this gun, but I still think they are WAY overpriced for a mere pistol in carbine format.

If you are really poor and still want the look, you can get a Hi-Point Carbine (these are decent guns don't let the naysayers with no personal experience with them deter you) and a ATI Stock that matches the look of the Berretta for half the price. Mind you the downside is 9mm only (I beleive, but its cheaper to shoot!) and lower capacity magazine options.

Another good "Pistol turned into a rifle" option for on the cheap is the Kel-Tec Sub2000 or Sub2k. They can be had in a few different calibers and won't cost you too much.

My personal favorite in the Pistol-Rifle world if we are going to be talking about spending a bit of money is the Calico. Nothin like having a normal sized rifle with a 100rd helical feed mag at your disposal

But anyways, I've always liked the looks of these guns, and Beretta is always a good name in firearms, but I always thought they charged WAY too much for these. I coulda sworn when they first came out they were in the $450 range, even with Assault Weapons Ban fear mongering going about, $700 seems like too much.

I got one from Bud's for about $750. It is a great rifle. The .45 is not a good choice for really long shots, but is popular with Police Departments because it has good stopping power. It puts big holes in targets. I've pimped mine out with a laser ($15), a laser dot sight ($25), a tactical light ($18), and a bipod ($23) all from DealExtreme.com . I am ready for the coming Zombie Apocalypse, are you?

No lasers, but I do have a folding/collapsing foregrip and railmounted LED flashlight I got off DealExtreme attached to my 50rd 9mm Calico Carbine, along with a 2x Red Dot. You take the big zombies, I'll deal with the masses .

Translation to L4D speak...

.45ACP takes the Boomers, Hunters, Witches and Tanks...

9mm take the Common Infected

PX4 storm 9mm was my first gun ever. I love it. Beretta quality, the craftsman ship.
