Is this a good deal on this 42 inch tv or should I wait for Black Friday specials?

Laura

I was thinking about getting the Zenith plasma, but after reading the reviews on it, I've decided to pass. I also couldn't find any info about the tv on Zenith's website either. It looks like they only make LCD's now anyways. I'm waiting for BF to get a good deal on an LCD 120mhz tv. Good post though!

Wal-Mart Sharp LCD TV is a better deal (11/7 one-day sale http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/964464/ ) than the Zenith deal offered by Sears.

Zenith aint what it used to be.

you can say that again. good TVs back in the days. I had a 1st GEN Zenith plasma (EDTV) that I paid about 4 grand for it when it came out. It was only a 42", and I definitely got some good years out of it.

this is one great plasma ! if this one as the same as one I got two years ago for about the same price then it is a rebadged LG

have been using it for two years now, no problems at all!

I got this at Kmart exactly two years with 3 years warranty for an extra $50.

It's a couple versions newer than that one. I got the same one that you did. It's been a great TV for what it is. No complaints here either.

The Zeniths are just repackaged LGs. Generally they're last year's model one back from whatever the latest that LG currently has out that's put in a different frame. Same panel, guts, remote, set-up/configuration. Usually the warranty is a year less. Same deal with the Insignia sets at Best Buy.

Those reviews are pretty lame. Not the set but the reviews themselves. One guy who gave it 3 stars because he decided that he should have gotten an LCD for gaming and can't figure out how to take the stand off. One guy who seems to know what he's talking about who gave it 4 stars. And one guy who gave it 1 star apparently because he's questioning whether the 720p 600Hz specs are up to today's standards and it's not even clear that he actually owns one. lol
