So... basically, this is a GPS that after 2012, won't be able to be updated?? Not such a good deal to me.

It means that starting in 2012 the traffic delays, weather and movie info will no longer be available. It will not affect the GPS functions or the ability to update maps.

I don't have weather or movies, but I have found that the traffic information on my GPS is worthless. It either says there is heavy traffic long after I'm stuck in it, or I fly right through spots where it reports the traffic.

I agree. I have Garmin 265wt and traffic feature is iffy at best. Whenever it showed there was traffic we avoided
that route, took us some extra time but are never sure if it was a false positive!
