Scholastic is offering 50 paperback books for $1 each.
The books come in sets for Grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-9.
Titles are subject to change based on availability.

It will show up as $150, code SNF takes off $100 and is valid through 12/31/09

Standard Ground Shipping is 9% of order amount - $4.50 if you just order the one set. Takes 4-7 days

Seems like a nice collection - I see some Newberry Medal winners and some classics.
Website states nonfiction books, but I see fiction titles based on the pictures shown.

Check it out here

Excellent deal - I have gotten in on their sales in the past and have always been very satisfied...

It states that they are Nonfiction books.

says "titles will change based on availability"..so this is definitely a crapshoot for what you'll get. If you are just starting to get books for someone, its a pretty good deal, but if you have a lot of these kinds of books, you might be better off passing...

It is actually a great deal for a new teacher starting up a classroom library...certainly not for everyone. Green for you!

My kindergarten teacher friend could certainly use these! Green for you, OP!

$50 bucks isn't bad. I have twin girls. They will eventually be able to read. In the meantime, I can start a bookshelf for them.

I tried to order them, but it's for Teachers only. They will only ship to school address. Anyone has successfully ordered them and ship to their home?

Ditto

I put my home address as home school and ordered without any problem.

Site says..."need help?

Please Note: Scholastic must verify all school information before processing your order for shipment. Items are not held from inventory until your school information is verified and your order is processed in our warehouse. It is possible that sale items and other items in high demand may sell out of stock and we will notify you via email if this happens. We regret any inconvenience this may cause".

Just received an email after my order was submitted 2 day ago. It asks me to provide
Your full name
School name
School address, including zip code
School telephone number
School fax number
Grade levels of school
Enrollment
Principal/Director
If preschool or daycare- is the center licensed and do you teach a curriculum?

Looks like they are rigid on the verificiation process.

I never got any email regarding my order and also I do not see in my order history after login to the site. Looks like they cancelled without notifying.

As strange as it sounds, they first sent me an email asking school information and said the order would be canceled if I don't respond. After two days they shipped the books even though I didn't respond.
