I just picked up a Weber Spirit E-210 Grill brand new for $199. Regular price is $400. This was store clearance in SoCal. Good luck hunting if you are in the market for a nice Weber grill.
What's the major difference between Spirit and Genesis lines? Genesis is much more expensive.

Agree with OP - happy hunting. I recently purchased a floor model Weber Genesis E-310 grill at a Sears in NJ for $349 ($329 after a $20 off Sears Outlet coupon). They usually never go on sale and are hard to find for anything less than $649 or $699.
The trick is finding them - none of the other Sears near me had any left. But if they do, they're looking to get rid of them. Usually only floor models though - I think Weber objects to sales on non-floor models.
Having the controls use all the shelf surface on the right side makes weber grills dead to me... you have to spend over $1000 just to get a grill with the controls on the front (The Summit Series)
I really wanted a Weber for the build quality, but could not overcome the controls being on that shelf, it plain made no sense, and they make you pay a lot of money for nonsense.
If there was any advantage to having the burners horizontal or putting those controls on the shelf, why would they offer their top of the line products with the sensible front controls and perpendicular burners?
the burners side to side SUUUUUCK.... worthless for zone cooking... that is my only gripe on the webers... dont know if the low chance is worth a trip though
I called in the Sears in El Monte, CA. I asked the Weber E-210 at $199. I was told they have two. I drove for about 30 miles one way to get it. When I got there, I was told they are selling at $399 (mis-communication, I guess). But I was told they have a floor model for sell at a cheaper price. The price tag says it's $257. I ask if they can sale it to me at $199. The assistant agrees to ask his manager. It turns out they can sell it to me at $119. Yes, $119. The reason is the floor model has been on sale for a while and they had not update the tag. What a steal. Thanks to OP and surfsidedetail.
There are a couple of other Kenmore grill models on sale as well. Their real price might be much cheaper than the tags say. Check them out if you are interested.

I thought that I'd just weight in on the whole Weber grill features debate. I got a Weber Genesis S-310 this spring and I LOVE it. With 3 burners that run left to right I've had no problems doing zone cooking...just lay the food left to right in a line over the burners on the different heat settings. I highly recommend the 3 burner model for sure. As for the side burner, I thought that I would like one but when I really thought about what I'd cook on it I realized that it's a lot easier to make that stuff in the kitchen where you have everything at your fingertips rather than carrying it all outside...so I'm glad that I didn't waste money on that. I just cooked 2 pork shoulders last week with a few cups of soaked woodchips wrapped in foil over the back burner set to HIGH and the other 2 burners OFF and the grill maintained a perfect 275 degrees. This technique also leaves room to cook 2 full racks of ribs without having to buy a rib holder. I've also cooked filet mignons on high while potatoes and corn were on medium heat so zone cooking is easy. Unless you have a large family I would stick with the Genesis line. I was all wound up to get the Larger Summit line that has the burners front to back but I just couldn't come to terms with the cost, it was very little extra bang for a whole lot more buck...Not to mention that the Summit uses a ton more propane that the Genesis. I highly recommend the stainless steel cooking grates and flavorizer bars that come with the EP-310 or S-310. So my advice would be to get the Spirit EP-310 if you like to cook occasionally, the Genesis S-310 or EP-310 if you are a serious griller or would like to become one, and if you're an overspending idiot than the Summit is for you. Skip the smoker accessory and just use the foil packet trick right on the flavorizer bars.
I read many Weber bbq gas reviews and would like to get 1. What Weber comes with smoker box? And what grill model is good for 8 peoples? I would ke something good and last 15 years or more. Any input or other brand/model suggestion would be appreciated.

Well Speedy777,
My last post should have given you all of the info you should need about weber grills. If you really are cooking for 8 people on a regular basis than you would be one of the few people who would actually benefit from the summit line. The price is a lot higher but I've seen some for sale for around $1400. These come with the smoker box built in and in fact it even has it's own burner. I've owned many different brands of grills and I'm the most impressed with Weber. These grills will last for 15 years or more with proper care. Keep in mind that you will need to replace parts like the burner tubes, flavorizer bars, ignitor, as well as clean the whole grill periodically. The great thing about Weber is that almost every hardware store carries these parts in stock. The other thing to keep in mind too is that the parts for the larger Summit grills are more expensive as well. If you only cook for 8 people occasionally then I would recommend the Genesis line. When you cook for more people just cook smart. Cook the meat first and tent it with foil on a plate when done, which is what you should do anyway to let the juices redistribute for 10-15 minutes before cutting. Then cook the veggies which usually only take 10 minutes anyway. With the Genesis models you can buy a smoker accessory but I've seen mixed reviews on these and you can just wrap soaked wood chips in foil and put it over a burner with great results.
I am about to give up. I have visited every Sears store within 100 miles and come up totally empty handed. I still need a grill. It seems weird that none of the normal stores have cleared them out at the end of the season this year.
