Went to go purchase this LG 42" LCD TV today around 5PM at Fry's in Renton, WA. expecting to pay the in-store advertised price of $799, it rang up at $702.42 (+tax). PLU 5897963. They had 7 more in-stock. I heard somewhere that LG is offering a $100 promotion..maybe this is why the price drop?
I had them print out a price quote and it indicated the price was good until Nov 13?
Best Buy also had lowered the in-store SALE price to $799.99 (-10% discount coupon available on net) = ~$720 + tax.
I price matched Fry's sticker at Best Buy to return the POS Insignia 42" I bought yesterday. The 42LH40 is working great as a PC monitor at full native resolution for me right now for my HTPC. Realy nice set.
Newegg.com has this listed at $744 Free Shipping.. But I learned my lesson buying HDTV's online.. so much easier to take them back to B&M stores
I got one of these a couple of weeks ago whan Fry's had them on sale for 599. What's this $100 from LG all about? I wonder if I can get it applied to my previous purchase.

I had the same thing happen on the 50 model with netcast. It was marked 850. I was going to pricematch it to 800. However, the employee stated it wasn't needed as it was in their system for 750. can't beat that.
