We want you to fully experience the BLOCKBUSTER® advantage, so we're giving you FREE in-store exchanges for the rest of the year! You can now trade in up to 3 by-mail DVDs each month for free in-store movie rentals. Here's how it works: • Take your by-mail DVD (in the mailer) to a participating BLOCKBUSTER store and exchange it for a free movie rental.
• There is no due date for your in-store exchange—it will count as one of the movies you're allowed out at a time under your rental plan*.
• Once you're done watching, drop it off at the store, and we'll send another movie from your Queue.
Start exchanging movies right away! You'll only have free in-store exchanges through the end of the year, but you can always upgrade your plan to add them permanently.
Enjoy!
Your friends at BLOCKBUSTER
I assume this is good for anyone on a non-instore exchange plan. Check your email if you are a subscriber.

I have this already, but I got the email too. I have an old plan that used to be $17.99 and it used to let me have both in store and movies from the mail at the same time. Now, it is one or the other.
BLOCKBUSTER Total Access Premium $19.99 / month (plus taxes) 3 at-a-time, Unlimited mailings Unlimited In-Store Exchanges + 1 FREE bonus Movie or Game Rental E-Coupon / Month
Is this their way of telling us they are going to take away my plan year? Or, maybe they sent it to some of the wrong customers too.
Maybe they will give us a few free streaming movies like Net flix - Best Buy to Stream Movies Online http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=BBI

I wouldn't think so, otherwise it's pretty cruel of them to let people try it... I thought they had an unlimited instore exchange plan, but on the site now they're only showing 5 monthly instore exchanges as an option:
edit... those are only the free trial plans. The "Total Access Premium" plans have unlimited instore exchanges. $22, $30, and $35/mo for 1,2,& 3 out at a time, respectively.

I currently have the 5 in-store monthly and got the email saying it is unlimited... . (like it used to be last year and before.) This actually saved my membership cause I was going to cancel since the neighborhood BB withing walking distance closed down yesterday!
Curious to know if this is is an option for someone on a non in-store exchange plan... .
I have the $19.99 monthly with unlimited monthly rentals. When they had switched the plan to the 3 a month "deal" from the previous unlimited I was told that our plan had been "grandfathered" in since we had it for so long....I don't know if it will change after the new year though--I hope not!
I questioned the email with Customer service as I already have unlimited instore exchange, and i just got an email from Blockbuster saying I received the email by mistake, and my plan would not be changing at year end. But they have removed benefits from my plan before, so i will wait and see.
I am done with BB 1st they close most of the stores in my area and then they throttled my account, so I canceled and they baited me back with a free month, a week later the only store in my area closes and then they send this email , made me LOL

That's the plan I have. The only reason I'm still with BB is the unlimited exchanges, and the monthly coupon for a free game rental. If either one of those is gone, I'm going to NF.
I have the same problem as everyone else. They closed the BB near me now they offer this. It was bad enough they are slow with shipping. This little ploy to make us stay with them is nice but what good does it do when there's not a store nearby. Goodbye Blockbuster hello Netflix and Redbox.
They're just trying to send you even fewer DVDs since they don't send another one out until you return the one you checked out from the store.
I went back to Blockbuster online for a month after having used it in the past. They are only sending out at most half as many DVDs as they used to in the same amount of time and the time to receive them is longer than before. I don't think they even mail them when they say they do.
LOL. I am in South Fla. This was a mecca of tons of Blockbuster Video stores as their original headquarters was here. There are no stores left. Everyone I drive past seems to be closing. I think they are DOA. Their online business I assume does some business and they are starting kiosks.

LOL @ Blockbuster making a promotion out of what was standard feature with an account less than 6 months ago. No wonder this company is going out of business and their stock is trading for less than $1. Blind monkeys steering the helm of this one along...

I'm only in my second week of a free month from Netflix and already two of the (9 so far) DVDs these fools have sent me are scratched beyond watching. In the six weeks I trial'd Blockbuster that never happened, even once. I would be happy to give these people the benefit of the doubt but my girlfriend's trial had the very same quality issues: In one month 3 of Netflix's DVDs were so scratched she was furious when they wouldn't extend her trial to compensate for their shabby quality and told them they could go blow her before she'd give them any of her money lol.
I hate Netflix's envelopes because they expose glue (an invitation to jam up at the post office, and thus delay the advancement of your Queue) and I further don't like the idiot round sticker they put on their mailers because they are too gdamn cheap to get a decent mailer, like Blockbuster.
Netflix has exactly one advantage over Blockbuster: their selection is better, I won't deny it; but the quality of their media just sucks and their mailers are a pain in the ass.
I'll use Netflix for limited spurts when I need filler for Blockbuster, but I'll be genuinely pissed off if Netflix is the only option left standing after this economic meltdown.
