good quality cookware. This set was normally selling for $249 i believe. Includes more useful pieces than their $149 8-piece set. (10in and 12in piece pans vs 8in and 10in and an addition of 12 qt stock pot (this pot alone sells for $80 making up the difference in price between sets)
Can I use Pam oil spray on this and not have food stuck to the pan?

I ordered this set a couple days ago and will pick it up Monday. I dont need the huge 12qt dutch oven so I'll flea bay that. If you're good, you can double dip mr rebates with bing cb.

Any link for mr rebates?
This is great deal, a 50 bucks drop.
I've being follow the price for months.
I've already bought their open stock 12" sauté pan, love them. just ordered 4 qt Casserole Pan.
They have the best handle design I've used so far. They copied All Clad's handle but improved.
Great price. I wish I had waited and got my mom this set instead of a non stick coated anodized pan set a few weeks ago.
For those who don't know about Bar Keepers friend, it will save you from scrubbing and scrubbing burnt on food for these pans. Also takes care of rust colored stuff on cooking items. Target carries them for under $3
I bought the umpty-jillion piece set from Sam's Club a few years ago and love it! I think it was $179, a fantastic deal then. If Sam's still carried that set I'd snatch up a bunch for family - sigh........
Also, if you belong to Costco, they have this set for a bit more. Comparable in quality I think, just different sizes/uses.

I own a couple of these pots and about the only thing that I won't cook in them is eggs. I do occasionally get sticking, but in essence I just deglaze the bottom of the pan with water after I am done cooking and it cleans up fine.
When I purchased mine last week, all I did was go to msn.com and typed in WalMart and there was the 10%. Cant believe its gone now. Glad I jumped when I did. He who hesitates is lost.
Of course if it went up to 12% then Id be saying "Look before you leap". lol
i see how it works.. i tried "Sony Bravia TV" as per suggestion and i got the 10% for the purchase... but it says for tv... not sure if its going to work
Edit: Looks like the 10% off Wal-Mart links are dead, they were working as of yesterday. Unless anyone knows of a new link or search word.
Go to bing.com, sign in, search for "Thinkpad". If the 10% link doesn't show up, refresh the page until it does.
I had 2 pans of this brand and after using 2x a month for 1 year about the coating started to peel and chip off. I also only use silicone spatula and never scrape my pans.
I have some paderno and "professional" chef pans and after 5 years those are still good. I guess if you need a lot of pans this is good or ok maybe...

These are Tri-Ply, fully clad stainless steel. There is no "coating".

Maybe I should have tried. I just threw them out last week though Oh well, they were somewhat chap anyways.
My chef pan and stock pot are Tri-ply but stainless steel w am aluminium disk inside for heat retention. Those are Volrath brand and were reccomended to me by people that work in restaurants. Only issue with those is they are extremely heavy... and were $100 + $30 for lid +100 something for stockpot...so $250 for the 2 pots and 1 lid.

That's what Tri-ply is, by definition. The aluminum is not for heat retention, though. The stainless steel retains it fine on it's own. The aluminum is for heat conductivity, which stainless steel is not good at.

what does the warranty cover? im shopping for one because my wife burnt whatever we had (some Macy's cheap teflon) to crisp. does it cover user damages? aka, is this thing indestructible?
Decided to get this cookware. Haven't seen it but the online reviews rank it very highly so I'm sure it's good.
I ended up getting the 10pc set plus a 1qt, another 4qt, the jumbo 12" cooker, the 4qt casserole, and the 8qt stockpot/steamer. Total came to $507 with tax. 10% Bing will save me $50 bringing it down to about $450. Used a $500 giftcard I got from eBay with a savings of $80. Makes my grand total with tax $370 (after Bing and the giftcard savings). Definitely a good buy for some good cookware. Looking forward to replacing all my nonstick and anodized cookware.
Any idea how long it takes the CashBack to show up for WalMart? Maybe the site-to-store purchases take longer that way? Usually it posts quickly but not even a confirmation from Bing yet. I did get a .pdf printout confirming the 10% at WalMart when I clicked through just in case. I read online something about no CashBack between 7pm and 10pm. Not sure if that's true but it said I was getting 10% so I would expect that's what I will receive.
vpham97 said: Can I use Pam oil spray on this and not have food stuck to the pan? Never use those commercial oil sprays. The propellants can and will stain the steel. Plus, I don't think anyone wants to eat propellant.
Try a mechanical pump spray. You can use your favorite oils in the pumps.

I paid for mine at 8:29 and cb email came in at 8:36.

Not a good sign. If it doesn't come through by tomorrow I'll have to send an email to Bing. $50 is $50. I actually made a different WalMart purchase on another computer and it doesn't show either. Not looking good...

Thanks for the link, I think I'll get a set of those as I'd rather support Costco than Wallyworld. Plus, Costco has their great return policy if I ever have trouble.
I got a little bigger set of Cook-O-Matic 18-8 Ply Stainless steel, made in USA from my mother bought in 1962 and we were just saying the other day how the set still looks like new and its really seen allot of use..I would think these would hold up just as well thou I think the handles on mine are better looking..
I got a big old cast iron fry pan that still seems like it makes the best fried chicken around..

We have been using the Cooks Tri-ply set from JCPenney for a few months now and have found it to be an excellent set on our glass cooktop. Handles are more comfortable than All-clad and the lighter weight is actually and advantage for us, without impacting cooking quality. Things clean up really well by letting the pan cool a little and then soaking in water. Final cleanup on these can be done with just a sponge and soap and water. A Dobie pan works for anything really stuck.
As said above, never use cooking sprays on these pans. The propellant is absorbed into the metal over time, increasing the chance of food sticking. Just heat the pan with a little oil before placing the food in it. For anything besides boiling water, always use medium heat. These pans cook faster than plain aluminum.
Here is the URL for the $149 10-piece Penney's set:
Had to laugh when I opened the box. It came with the issue of Cook's Illustrated that recommended Tramontina SS cookware!!
A couple of notes: Made in China No manual or instructions included Fit and manufacture is great Handles are comfortable
I bought a 12" AllClad saute pan from TJMaxx this weekend for $45. Comparing it side-by-side with the Tramontina and they are almost identical. The AllClad feels lighter and the handle isn't as comfortable. There are slight polishing marks, but that's being picky.
I should think not. Flux capacitors are not easy to come by.

still waiting for mine (ship to store) but i'm living in the sticks so....
yeah I was affraid they moved the manufacturing to China, the magazine review (i'm just guessing here) was based on pots still made in Brazil - hopefully there's no drop in quality due to this switch
UncleJohn said: Hate to say this but I was looking at Black Friday deals and Sears & Kmart seem to have some really nice Stainless sets at rock bottom prices..
Not comparable unless they're tri-ply and fully clad 18/10 stainless.
