I really want this phone, but every time I look at the monthly cost next to my $30 SERO 500 plan, it drives me nuts. To start, I only use about 100 minutes a month that aren't mobile to mobile. Maybe 100 texts. Light data use. I really wish someone had a realistic light usage plan with an android phone.

FWIW...
do the math. what he was saying is that you sign a new 2 yr agreement with or without a previous account. should you choose to break the contract early (essentially, the same as having no contract), then you pay the $175 ETF + the $99 initial cost of the phone + the $35 activation fee = $309.

"Ouch" time: Verizon raised ETF to $350 for "high-end" devices. I imagine this would definitely include the DROID.

Did you even read the terms on wirefly???? It clearly states a $175 ETF. Verizon has NOT raised the ETF yet. That is supposed to go into effect on 11/15. So people want this phone or other advanced phones should get in now.

I think you're also on the hook for at least the first month of service.

That's a given...whether or not you go with no contract or with a contract but terminating early. You still need to pay for every month you use the service.

Just get a Touch Pro 2. It has a 3.6" screen which is only .1 inches smaller than the droid and best of all you pay only $30 a month. Then install SPB mobile shell 3.5 and the android theme to make it look like the android OS if you want. And you still only pay $30 a month.

Might just be something I'm overlooking, but is it possible to get this as an upgrade for only 1 line in a family plan? The website seems to say so but I have to choose at least 2 phones when selecting a family plan.

I was wondering the same thing. Couldn't figure out how to select one phone WITH a family plan.
does anyone see any mention in terms that we MUST keep the Data plan?? Im pouring thru T&Cs and cant seem to find it. Though I'm sure i saw the terms "cannot be altered for the first 181 days" half hr ago but cant seem to find it again.
