If you have a little more to spend, consider the Aaxa Tech P2. 32 Lumens, 800x600 native, built in media player with 1GB and MicroSD slot. VGA and composite inputs, remote control, battery pack, tripod etc... $349.
I had the Dell, the Mpro110 and the Optoma, but the Aaxa is the first to actually go past just being a gimmick. This thing will actually do a movie nicely in a dimmed room.

Is that their new projector? I had the first Aaxa and was not impressed at all. Can this one be used for a presentation in a lit room? As for a movie, how large a screen can it afford before it stops making sense? Thanks.

The P2 is much, much better than the old P1. The P1 did 640x480 in 12 Lumens, the P2 does 800x600 in 32 Lumens.
You'll be able to do a presentation in a dimmed room, not totally dark, and not fully lit. I've watched several movies in my bedroom (darkened) and got it zoomed up to about 70 inches wile still showing a very good picture. Could probably go even larger, but I ran out of open wall. I travel with the P2, and it makes a world of difference in a hotel room.
Speaker is a tad on the low side, so I carry an Altec-Lansing Orbit MP3 for audio. The combination of the P2, the Altec-Lansing and my Zune makes for one nifty entertainment system.
