Can someone comment on whether this seems like a good laptop or not?
I have to admit that I know pretty much nothing about laptops and have been researching for the last three days about them. I way behind on technology I suppose. After three days, I am completely confused.
I basically just want something that I can use as a back up to my desktop pc in case anything goes wrong with it. And it might be nice to use the laptop to watch movies on the hdtv.
I live in a pretty small house so do you guys think the B/G wireless should be strong enough for a small place?
Im on a very tight budget so this would fit my needs where that is concerned as it has HDMI, web came, and a 56 modem, which is what I was looking for.
I've heard a few folks say that they've had problems with HP laptops, so I am just a bit concerned. But at this point I am so confused about all of them, Im almost ready to just grab the first one I see and say a prayer.
it is great laptop for basic needs, internet, online chat, hd movie through HDMI to TV, etc. I owned one G60 from BB for $399 back in July. It performs well and does not heat up very much after long hours movie. The only problem is the build, not very solid and mine starts to have problem with the hinge. May need to contact HP for warranty later.
1 MB L2 cache seems a bit too low, it will negate some of the RAM powers.

Pentium dual-core processors will perform better than Celeron, but don't approach the performance of the Core processors. For basic computing, this probably wouldn't really be noticeable though.

just saw that you can buy $100 bby gift card through bing at 10% CashBack....wondering...u can buy $400 of gift cards for $360..making it more sweet....
HDTV at 1366x768? That's barely 720p. Last I checked, HD is 1920x1080p. Anything less should be considered EDTV. My old XPS Gen2 has 17" screen and 1920x1080p resolution. These new laptops just suck in terms of resolution IMO.
Good find OP. btw, putting "lappy" in the title makes it so nobody can find your deal in searches. I think the search issues outweigh how cool the word sounds.
Definitely sounds like a good way to use the $20 Cash Back using paypal through Best Buy.
