I can't seem to find any Expand-It line trimmers attachments. If it was cheap to convert this into a line/string trimmer I would jump on it. Can anyone find one of those?

you have to look for "expend it" tm - manufacturer is secondary (ryobi would be one of many!)

Was able to track down 3 in Reston Va and bought 2 of them. Yes, $37 + tax. Were high on an adjoining shelf and the staff couldn't find them, but we saw the Homelite boxes and asked them to check. The computer had shown them to have 3 in stock.
