I am currently looking for a new Audio Receiver and this is one of my options that I am weighing. It seems to be a fairly good receiver for the price. This is the lowest I have found for this unit even compared to eBay prices. Most online places are selling it for $329.99 right now. It currently (12:40 AM CDT)says it is OOS, but their ETA says today so be ready.
Sony technologies are too restrictive, if you want to use it with non-Sony products, you may run into a lot of frustation. e.g. for cameras/camcorders they use memory stick when entire world is using SD cards. DH800 does not have dynamic EQ and dynamic Volume and no upconversion There was a deal on Onkyo recently with iPod doc, i'd wait for similar deals around Thanksgiving/christmas.
