How come your top picks never list the great deals on bottom feeders? This week has featured some really decent laptops for really short money. Let's hear it for the cheap seats!

Not on sale anywhere, but the As1410 is on my list of top laptops/netbooks.

I updated my post to include the Acer laptop from BB for $329.99, and I will keep my eyes peeled for Aspire As1410's.

I had it work successfully for me before and after I posted the deal, but unfortunately it seems to be expired now. I will remove the dv8t Pavilion from my OP.
Don't see any netbooks with atom processors, smaller size (10.1" screen), thinner (<1"), lighter (<3 lbs). In short, I don't see a netbook listed above..
I think the Acer Aspire (AS5532-5535) has only 3GB RAM, not 4GB.

Nice deals!
If you're looking for a slightly smaller machine, I just picked up this HP Pavilion DM3-1030US for $599.99 shipped on Amazon. AND it has a $50 mail in rebate. So $549.99 total. Seems to be quite a few of those floating around right now on HP laptops.
I went with the AMD version, cheaper and better graphics. Arives tomorrow! I started looking at this machine because of a B&M Office Depot posting a few days ago.

That HP coupon was only good for 1200 uses. I have read where if you call them you can still get them to apply it but ymmv on that.

In all fairness, the title of the thread is "Top Laptop Picks", not "Netbook". I, however, would love to see some netbook deals b/c I am currently in the market for an 11.6" er with Windows 7 and non-Atom processor.

I'm also looking for a 11-13" netbook/notebook with a non-Atom processor thats lighter than 4lbs.... any suggestions will be appreciated in the price range ~$400
HP sells more laptops, so there is a greater chance for more problems.
The reliability lists the PERCENTAGE of problems and not the NUMBER of problems. If you use cheaper/unreliable components, you would have higher % of problems, regardless of the number of laptops sold.
"HP uses the same parts as everyone else." - Very meaningless statement. It is like saying, every component in the computer is a commodity and there is no distinction based on quality of the components. And no differentiation based on design.
