Whoops - I just discovered that Butcherboy beat me to this deal. See his post HERE After a jillion posts, you'd think I would have checked deeper!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple weeks ago, Thingfling (link) had a pair of Unisound brand tower speakers that wreaked of "white van special" - yet turned out to be anything but. I bought a pair and can confirm they were a steal of a deal. Well built, respectable drivers, neutral or not slightly laid-back sound balance.

Today brings another offering of the same brand. This time with a pair of 5.25" Kevlar woofers and a 1" silk dome tweeter in a real wood finished cabinet (except black). The price - $149.99 + the token $6 shipping for the pair. Of course it's while supplies last or when the next deal comes along.

As for the brand, my guess from dealing with a LOT of speakers through the years, is that these are another "bang for the buck" product such as Fluance or The Speaker Company product lines.

Speaker novice here...
They have 2-sets of plugs on the back... how would that work with a 6.1 surround receiver?
I am not in a rush, but would like to replace my fronts. These look slick.

The 2 sets of connections on the back are for bi-wiring. Normally there is a strap across them, but when that strap is removed - you can run separate wire (or use separate amps) for the woofers and tweeter).

Do note that these are a 4 ohm speaker, just as the DAC 2.6 deal. These are not going to work well with any economy receiver due to the load they present - plus these are likely going to be very revealing of shortcomings in the signal path. Just be careful.

Awesome feedback, thanks. I am currently running the Onkyo 601 receiver... I'll go track down the specs... Although I do plan to upgrade to the new Onkyo equivalent that has HDMI capabilities.

::Edit::
Looks like my current receiver does 6 ohm at 110W channel...
I plan to go to the TX-SR607 (http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=TX-SR607&class=Receiver&p=s)
Any feedback on how these would work out with that?
