I was in the market for a LCD TV (46" - 52") and I went my local Fry's and found this deal. Again this deal is B&M only and I know Fry's is not everywhere and you also have to factor in sales tax so possibly cold for many. Amazon has this for $1689.99. Did not find anything for this model on FW.

First time poster and happy to share this with the the FW community which has saved me lotsa $$ in the past. Let me know if I should change anything in this post to help the community better (including deleting it altogether if needed ).

This TV's reviews are decent on CNet and Amazon except for maybe a few who spoke about clouding in darker scenes. Here are the specs:

Can you tell me which fry's ad you saw this in or were you just in the store? If you saw it in store, can you tell me which location? Purchased the TV last week for 1299 so hoping to get 100 dollars back =) I have been following this TV for weeks and I am pretty sure this is the lowest it has ever been. Thanks OP!

Did not see this in an ad. Pure and simple serendipity, I was looking for something else in the store at the time. You should try and PM them. I went to the Aero Drive store in San Diego.

Thanks Grok.

I just got this one from Sunnyvale Fry's today, and they dropped the price to $1099 + Tax + Delivery $60= almost $1300 OTD.

maserati, I posted here yesterday how I got mine for $990 from Sears but I can't find the post. Sears matched the price plus I got an addtional 10% off. $1099 - $109 = $990+tx. There is no shipping charge as it's sent to my Sears store in Eastridge where I'll pick it up in about 6 days. You gotta do this before Fry's sales price ends next Thursday. I brought a copy of price to Sears but they still called Fry's to verify the price.
Eddie in San Jose

do you guys think that they will have better BF2009 deals for this tv or similar tvs? I've been following this TV forever. Also where is your local Fry's at?

maserati, I found the post re: the Sony in question. Here it is:

Hey nice going eddielo, since I already picked up the TV, I need to evaluate if it is worth the hassle to return and pick up from Sears. I did however PM to Fry's again and got the extra $100 knocked off.

Thanks Eddie, went to Sears in Valley View Mall, Dallas and got price match, $1,040 plus tax, takes a week, so I'll pick it up next Wednesday, so I'll have time to buy a stand now

Can u tell us how you did the price match with Sears?
I called the local Sears Store, they want the Ad scan.
Can someone attach the scan of the Bill?

Same here, I can only get the same deal if I have an ad/receipt (scan).
Thanks.

did anyone get this deal from Sears when fry's didnt have the tv in stock??

Sears emailed me yesterday that my Sony Bravia had arrived. I picked it up yesterday, set it up and today a Dish tech came with new HD receiver to replace regular receiver. I also got another HD receiver for another room. Got three mo. Showtime and HBO free plus $10 off every month for 12 months. Tech did a great job and now we're enjoying HD on the new set. I'll wait till I see a good buy for the other room for a smaller, maybe 32' HD TV. I was not charged anything for the new install. I was quoted $75 by the phone agent but the tech said "no cost."
Total price for the 52" Sony was $1092.50 which includes tax. No charge for deliver to store. Picking it up was no problem as it fit in the van just fine. And it doesn't weight that much either. I live about 1.5 mi. from the Eastridge Sears. Fry's price would have been $1261.78 which includes tax and $60 delivery charge. A saving of $169.28.

wild travel, you should have gotten the TV from Sears for $999.00. Sears had the TV for $2,099. Subtract Fry's price of $1099 and you get $1000. Price match 10% off from the differenc is another $100 off. $1099 less $100 = $999. That's what I paid. Our state sales tax here is 9.25%. What is it in Dallas?

Picked this set up @ Sony Style. They price matched Fry's. Loaded it up (was surprised it was so light compared to my 46" XBR from last year). It's playing now. Could not be happier. Thanks OP!

WOW GREAT PRICES found... Here's what I found and bought if anyone wants to buy one... I haven't seen this set for anything less that what I have mentioned below - and I have been looking ... Sears has this for $1699 today... and it's now off the FRYs website...

this is what I bought and where:
TRY HOMEGOODZ.com electronics store online run by Hasidic jews...
http://www.homegoodz.com/i122721-Sony-kdl52w5100.html has it for 1429.00 PLUS $71 OFF AND it will automatically add to the shopping cart a free $99.00 HD cable starter kit - AND FREE SHIPPING (7-10 days)! Be careful when you order, watch your spam box bec. this company will email you a credit card auth form to electronically sign before they actually charge your card which arrives AFTER you click confirm to pay online - If i hadn't checked my spam box I wouldn't have seen it there. I live in NJ and they LITERALLY shipped it and I received it THE NEXT DAY! I think the are in New York. If you talk to them on the phone, they will try to upsell you a wall mount, extended warranty ($199 for 5yrs) anything you are willing to add on!

here's a code for an ADDITIONAL $71.00 off if you order before 11/28/09 Apply code 5P750PJ at checkout. http://www.coolcomputing.com/d/homegoodz.com.html - when I did this, it deducted this amount from the total and when I clicked confirm, the email that was delivered confirming my payment didnt show the discount...so I called the 800 # and "John" applied it for me... he first tried to say some jibberish about that being a mistake, the code is meant for "members" only and when I asked "where does it say anything on your sight about members and joining" ...he quickly said he's go ahead and do it.. .
