Today's Elf Daily Steal at meijer is the Hammacher Schlemmer 5MP Photograph Converter, a handy little device if you need a scanner just for photos. It can scan images up to 5x7 at 1800 dpi resolution. A great way to preserve memories and get them digitized! This scanner uses a USB cord to interface with your PC and no other cord is required for power.
I haven't seen any reviews for this little scanner, but Target has it available for $120 via Amazon. The next best price I could find today was $66.99 (shipped) through Amazon merchant aznxjimz. This deal isn't better than than what Woot.com was offering a few weeks ago but it is pretty darn close.

In for one. Looks interesting enough to try. I was going to buy one of those motorized scanners I saw recently at Radio Shack by Pandigital, but from what I see, this might be faster and maybe last longer. Thanks OP. Looks like a hot deal to me.
Got one last xmas. Software is a little cumbersome, but for easy of use in actually loading and scanning the photos its great. I really doesn't scan the photos, it actually takes a 5mp photo of them. One caveot, most photos unless stored very well will have fine scratches on the that you might not notice on the photo, but will show up in the photo.. Software helps some, but may not eliminate it completely. OK if you just want to scan and put on digital photo frame. I paid $99 less 20% off at BBB, so this is a steal and very worth it to try it out.
There is no mention of an autofeeder unfortunately. The tray in the image looks like it only accommodates a single picture because of the depth. I'd probably bite if it had an autofeeder. Can anyone that has this product confirm?
I watched the YouTube review and it's pretty clear that there is no autofeeder and appears you have to slide each picture into the trays individually. I was interested in this for my parents who are a bit older and would do better with something like this than with a flatbed scanner. However, after watching the video and reading reviews, I decided to pass. YMMV

Plus I went to the links mentioned in that thread, including this YouTube video which has a comment from 2 weeks ago from somebody who seems to own it and lists a variety of reasons that it sucks. All, or at least most if not all, of that single person's comments on Youtube were also mentioned by other people elsewhere so I tend to think it's likely to be accurat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SlcmBON6xI

Thank you Thankyou. I am either going to refuse delivery or return it. I have about 200-300 old photos I want to scan. ScanCafe at 29 cents is right around the same price and someone else does it. I learned about ScanCafe in the Woot reviews.
