Reliable hard drive to have...

I got 2 last month but were DOA, returned both to Newegg for refund, they said that both drives were not purchased from them so they refused to refund n plan shipping them back to me. Finally they agree to refund after i post a thread in the deal discussion forum, Newegg has an excellent service BUT why it happend to me? nothing is perfect anyway

You will always encounter resistance when you try to return something.

Green for the fastest mechanical drives available!

Samsung = good drives, bad tech support. Samsung's HDD website is SamsungHDD.com, but several of their employees said it should be SamsungODD.com. ODD = Optical Disk Drive, HDD = Hard Disk Drive. And in the minority of cases when the phone call is transferred to the correct department, rather than to the camera or TV dept., some employees in hard disk tech support claim that their department doesn't handle hard disk tech support but insists it's handled by the laptop computer dept., which of course denies this.

Also Samsung feels no shame in changing the terms of the warranty after the purchase. That HD bought back in early 2008 with a warranty that says return defective products to the dealer? Now the warranty for that same HD requires shipping it directly to Samsung, and Samsung says the original warranty never existed.

Sold Out @ 10:54pm ET

I have had to return a Samsung DVD internal drive with problems. I do have to pay my own shipping, and I have to wait almost a month to get another drive ship back to me from East Coast. But at least I got another drive back from Samsung. Haven't tried their HD, but I would definitely consider Samsung HD.
