Never knew a comforter had an expiration date. I bought a similar one from Overstock about three years ago and it's great. Toasty warm in the winter with the heat turned down.

I bought this a few weeks ago. I let it air out for a few days before I used it as it did have a 'synthetic' smell straight out of the package. Very pleased though with the product as it is sufficiently warm and cozy/fluffy.
Sort the reviews from low to high and you can see that this comes much thinner than what is pictured. I think I'll save the cash for a better comforter some time.
Comforters have some of the highest markups for any product group. The one from Overstock is worth $80 at best - today's price reflecting, well, overstock.
Whatever the case, there is no way is this comforter ever sold successfully for $412 each. I'll add that the obviously stupid price lies found on Overstock have prevented me several times from buying furniture from Overstock - I'm afraid of how stupid I'll feel with some piece of sh1t I'd have to hire a freight company for more than it's worth to send back.
A few years back I posted on Fatwallet for Sear's high-end (Sealy) full goose down comforters at 90% off each, I cleaned out our stores, others cleaned out theirs after I so kindly mentioned it here. Those were a good deal, and the most expensive was $360 marked to $36 and there were many.
Those were goose down, the OP's are duck down, I guarantee it, and it's something I'd avoid personally.
I once bought a comforter from LNT i believe for around $120 or so; I got this dry cough which didn't go away until i returned the comforter. I wonder to this day if it was goose or duck or the comforter at all!

Maybe due to the duck being from the Yangtze, and the down freshly yanked off the duck and stuffed raw w/o any processing otherwise?

My two cents: Would not purchase a down comforter from Overstock. Both my sister and I had bad experiences when we bought different styles. The descriptions were not accurate. The quality was way below expectations. And, it was darn expensive to return them to OS for credit.

I bought a comforter at Overstock several years back. They advertised as 100% down, but when I got it, the label said 70% down and 30% other feathers. I had no luck with Overstock's customer service.

You have to sign up at Bing.com for an account. Once there go to shopping and then search oversize down comforter 500 thread. Overstock 7%( today is 7 percent) will come up and then use the link they provide. Your Cash Back should show up in 24 hours and you can reuse this bing account over and over again!!! It is great! Lots of stores have Cash Back!
