Toshiba is not a reliable company. My satellite laptop overheats. and the monitor broke. thank god it was covered under 4 year guarantee. But the thing is they replaced my good LCD monitor w/ some cheap one. Now i am looking to buy a new one b/c the laptop overheats and shuts off automatically. b/c my guarantee expired.

I bought the L505D-S5983 from Best Buy for $350. It's bascially the same but with a 320gb hd. So far I like it, it's fast and the battery life is good. We'll see how reliable it is...

that's what every average joe says about his laptop. "it overheats. brand X sucks"
it didn't overheat during the first month you owned it.
so it's the dust trapped in the cpu heatsink fins.
every laptop needs to be disassembled when necessary, and the dust needs to be cleaned out. those $10 laptop coolers don't do sh*t.
