http://xbox.joystiq.com/2009/11/16/cheap-xbox-live-gold-at-sears-and-kmart-this-week/

Not really "hot", more like "warm", considering Amazon and Newegg almost always has the 12 months card for $40, and Best Buy had them for $30 last week, but I thought I'd share anyway since I think it's the cheapest around right now.

UPDATE (11/18/09: 3:20pm PST): Deal still hasn't materialized on either Sears.com or Kmart.com. I'm beginning to wonder if the folks at joystiq were misinformed. Sorry! Will update again if things change.

Update 2 (11/19/09 9:40am PST): Deal appears to be live. I guess they were off by one day.

No thread crap here - anyone know of a good place to find cheap points cards?

PS Thanks for the heads up Yuyak

I want to say Target - Black Friday.

For the past few years, Target has sold the $20 points cards for $15, the past 2 years I have not seen the points cards in the black friday ad, but they have been marked down in the store.

YMMV.

Yeah I was going to say the same thing. Target, every once in a while, has the discounted point cards. toys r us did last January (I remember because that's when I stocked up)... but in general, it seems that sales on the point cards are much more rare than sales on these subscription cards.

I checked Sears.com and Kmart and the cards are still full price. I wonder if there's a specific time on the 18th the deal is live.

Yep, checked Sears.com and it's still $49.99; I'll keep checking.

Still $50

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm starting to wonder if the guys at joystiq were misinformed. Sorry about this, guys - I really thought this was a real deal. I'll still keep my fingers crossed that it will happen.

Deal is live.

Sears 12 Month for $35
Kmart 3 Month for $15

You have to pay for shipping but you can do in-store pickup. Note, the Kmart price says 20 but in the special deals section it says final price 15.

Don't forget %5 FW CashBack from both merchants. ~$1.75 extra back eventually. Sears has free ship on $49 or more also, in case you want to get two.

FW also lists a $5 off $50 coupon, but I couldn't get it to work on two cards. I'm not familiar with ordering at Sears so it's possible that I'm just messing up. "Online Only - $5 off $50+ order. Coupon Code: SEARS5OFF50 (expires 1/31/10 10:59pm)"

See new post on FW for Points cards at Microcenter:

They have none of these at seven stores in my area and online ordering is not an option anymore. Even chatted live with one of their so called "Help" people and they said I'd have to travel elsewhere to get it. Cannot get it online now. Must be out of stock.

Scored a 12month card last week, in store pickup was a breeze. Great deal. Thx OP.
