Description
Xbox 360 is the fully-loaded entertainment experience right out of the box, with a hard drive, wireless controller, and headset. The HD component cable gets you gaming in high-definition
Xbox 360 is much smaller than its predecessor, it measures approximately 3.3 by 12.2 by 10.2 inches and weighs 7.7 lbs. It's powered by custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU with three symmetrical cores each running at 3.2 GHz. It also carries a custom ATI graphics processor 10 MB of embedded DRAM. This is powerful enough to draw 500 million triangles per second. In other words, it makes for great looking games in standard TV definition, and even better thanks to built-in support for HDTV 1080i televisions. It also supports the widescreen 16:9 format
A built-in Ethernet port allows users to connect their system to a broadband connection for access to Xbox Live Silver. The included service lets anyone create a Gamertag and gamer card to express your online identity, chat live with voice chat, and connect to the Xbox Live Marketplace to buy expansions, maps, and other digital items for your games
30 day warranty - I'd stay away as there have been many good deals on new 360's.

I absolutely wouldn't buy one from Craiglist due to the mods and bannination. Crave.com's "Recertified" label is very wide reaching, it could be anything from MS factory recert to an open box, customer return. It does not give any standard for the certification, such as "OEM recert", other than "It has been examined by qualified technicians." Qualified in what? Who employs them?
I normally don't have a problem with most recert goods, but the RROD scandal, the 30 day warranty, the XboxLive bannination and the sketchy recert language from this vendor all give me heartburn.
20gb hdd means this is an older console - more likely to RRoD. Given the fail rate of the 360 and all the horror stores out there about refurbished, as much as I love my 360, I'd strongly discourage anyone from buying refurbished.
That and what everyone else has mentioned about the banned xbox live consoles. Last week MS banned 1 million accounts. It's really a bad time to buy pre-owned.
Sorry OP, I rarely give 'red' but I really think this is a bad deal.
I bought a brandy new Xbox 360 Arcade (HDMI & 512mb ) for $100 and a refurb hard drive for $30. They need to drop the price of this thing by 50% before it resembles a deal.
just a note on buying refurb units, we picked up a second xbox 360 and went with refurb to save on the cost. two months after we got it, RRoD. because of the extended warranty microsoft had offered on the 360s, we were still able to send it in for servicing at no cost. so we got the lower cost of a refurb and still got extended warranty coverage to fix it when it died.
it may not always work, but if your refurb unit goes RRoD, its worth checking with microsoft for warranty service.
