It also qualifies for a free upgrade to Windows 7 from HP.
This is meant to be a mobile workstation with Quadro graphics for engineering/rendering applications. At $900 I don't personally feel it's a great deal, but fair considering hi-res screen and higher series C2D.
HP has been running coupons off and on which would get you the DV7T-quad series for about the same money. I think a lot of people are holding their breath for another black friday 40% Bing CashBack fiasco like HP had last year.
Note that this is a business category laptop which has a much better build quality than the consumer laptops which HP makes. It also has a 3 year parts and labor warranty instead of the usual 1 year.
With no tax in most states (except FL, IL, NC), free shipping and 6.4% bing CashBack, I think this is a good deal for a desktop replacement laptop.
Thanks OP! My Dell Inspiron 9300 went kaput after exactly 4 years of purchase.. I had initially set my sights on the 18.4 incher - HP dv8t (for which coupon codes and discounts abound), but the customer feedback on the build quality of the model left me worried.. Saw your post, and I just hope the build quality for this is much better..
