What's even more interesting is their new way they list items on their receipts--A "*" (star) now appears next to each discounted/sale item listed on the receipt. For sale items, the regular price and the sale discount are now clearly delineated as well.

I use these BB coupons on "sale" items all the time. They always get applied no problem, the system never rejects them. Bought a center speaker recently, was already on sale. The rep applied the 10% coupon no questions asked, and the system accepted it right away.
