A copy of the invoice/receipt from the purchase of your new HTC Touch Pro ll. 4. Once the eligible used Smartphone is received at the Trade-In Center we will mail you a check for $100*.
Note: Please pack up your old Smartphone carefully. When we receive it, it must be in the same condition that you specified on the website or you will not get the $100* trade-in credit. Please read the trade-in terms and conditions carefully. HTC will not return non- qualifying Smartphone's.
Seems like a very good deal now with the added incentive. My old HTC Dash and current Wing are listed. Note the fine print: "The traded-in device must have been active at the time of the new HTC handset purchase. Trade-in transactions are final; after you mail-in your used handset, you cannot get it back, even if you return the merchandise you purchase with amount received."
The trade in for a lot of these phones is a sucker move. Most folks would give you a lot more than $100 for a working iphone 3g or even a plain old iphone. Ditto a lot of other models. Now my old Kyocera 7135 (which VZW will no longer let you activate) would be a good deal to get $100 for.
Note also that the trade in works with VZW and ATT as well as TMO.
Are they now requiring a 2 year contract on these deals? Before via this "IT Pro" promotion it was just 1 year so I used it to buy a TMO Wing. I put the SIM from that phone in my iphone and sold the Wing new on fleabay. I am OOC now, so would not mind doing the same again with the Touch Pro 2, but only if on a 1 year deal.

Nice deal,
I order HTC touch pro II on 11/17 for $49.99 till yet i did not received any phone, the phone is still in-transit. I called T-Mobile and they want me to return the phone and re-order to get this deal. Did someone alredy face this type situation? Can you please help me what to do? Should i return the phone because activation was free with the previous order and it looks like there is a activation fee with this deal, correct?
I just ordered this phone. I hand a choice between a free car charger or Plantronics Explorer 360 with the activation free waved. I have a beat up Blackberry 8320 to trade in for the $100. I signed up for the 500 minute voice + unlimited test for $49 per month. The 1000 minute plan with unlimited text was $10 more per month. I already have a family plan on the get more plus plan so I plan on canceling this contract after the 30 days and paying the $200 early termination free. So in the end it would be like getting this phone for $150 with no contract.

Dennis For the past year, all best offers require 2 years. If you insist on a 1 yr. term the price will be more. Why don't you call up and let us know the price for a 1 yr. contract...I expect it'll be $50 to $100 more.
Chris-- So you are paying for DATA by the use? Why would you get a TouchPro without DATA? Oh-- I see your plan. You think you will get your rebate within the month before you cancel? That seems risky.
green. ordered one tonight. rebate requires that you have active service for 2 months on the new line...

Couple of questions if anyone would be so kind as to answer.
1) Can I get a transfer of a phone line to a new line? I have AT&T right now with about a year left on the contract. I'd like to keep my number. I know I need to pay ETF.
2) I have an HTC Fuze with a scratch about the size of a fingernail on the screen. I was reading the terms and conditions and it says no liquid or mechanical damages. So mine should be okay, right? Would it be better to sell it on eBay and use that to pay the ETF?
Sorry for the questions I just want to know what I'm getting myself into. Green for OP, thanks!

is the touch pro 2 upgradeable to windows mobile 7?

The rebate is from the Phone MFG so I doubt canceling the service should effect the rebate. As for the Data plan.....I already have a family plan with unlimited data so I will be using that plan with the Touch Pro 2.

this offer FAILS for people looking to upgrade to a HTC Touch Pro 2, why would I pay 350 for this phone when people are getting it for free!?! There has to be some way to get this deal or at least good deal on an upgrade!

Where have you been..... all offers for new service FAIL for people looking to upgrade. If your out of contract call up and get this phone then port your old number over to it and cancel your old line. Or talk to the retentions DEPT.

No need to return. Just tell them you want a credit. they will credit your account within 2 billing cycles.

I did the last free offer. Was thinking about doing this one, and gift the phone. The above line in the fine print has me concerned. If you can only buy the TP2 with a new line of service, how can your trade-in be active? Basicaly they're saying you have to have another line with an active phone on it, get a new line, and if you want to trade the phone in, cancel your old line.
So this deal doesn't work for people that aren't already T-Mobile customers, or don't currently have a line with an extra phone laying around. Make sense? Am I missing something here?
I wanna jump, but presume T-Mo requires data on this phone. Not willing to pay T-Mo price for lackluster 3G coverage when I can pay less for more coverage at Sprint. Current almost 4 year T-Mo customer...
Anyway to get this w/o data plan? Please don't ask why I'd want the phone w/o data. If you can't figure out a gazillion uses for a TP II w/o '3G Data', then you're not thinking very hard.

So this deal doesn't work for people that aren't already T-Mobile customers, or don't currently have a line with an extra phone laying around. Make sense?... Yes, it puzzles me too, but here are my current thoughts on how to get in on this. a. If you have any of the qualified phones with another provider, switch over to T-mob and port your number. Seems the cleanest. b. If you have an OOC T-mob number, open a new individual line and drop the old line and number...or try doing the MSISDN reuse to keep old number. However, if you successfully do the MSISDN then technically you're not opening a new line and may run into some trouble.
However, there is NO mention of the need for the phone to be active when going to the HTC link.
Terms from recylerebates website: "8.HOW IT WORKS:The Tool will reflect the value of a used phone based upon the manufacturer, model and condition of the phone ("Trade-Up Value"). The Tool will generate a receipt which includes an acknowledgment by the you that (1) you understand you are selling the phone in consideration for the Trade-Up Value; (2) by accepting such Trade-Up Value, you are giving up full ownership rights to the phone; (3) you understand the phone will not be eligible for return; (4) you are responsible for removal of all personal information before relinquishment of handset; (5) you have been advised of any return policy regarding the purchase of a new handset or accessory with the coupon; and (6) you are responsible for deactivating the used phone and ensuring you retire any outstanding balance. Limited-time offer expires December 31, 2009. Trade-in phones must meet minimum criteria in order to qualify, as outlined on the websitewww.htctradein.com/htc-smartphone. To receive the minimum $100 credit for the phone you trade in, you must purchase and activate a new HTC TouchPro2, Imagio or Ozone and mail in the trade-in handset with a valid proof of purchase (copy of UPC and invoice or receipt) and post marked by January 31st, 2010. The check will be mailed via regular United States Postal Service within 60 days from receipt of both the trade-in handset and required paperwork. You may trade-in one used phone for each new phone you purchase. Used handsets that are sent in that do not qualify either because a) the model of used phone is not eligible or b) the device is not in the condition stated will not be eligible for the trade-in promotional incentive and will be recycled without any payment. Check your value before sending in your used phone as all trade-in transactions are final; after you mail-in your used handset, you cannot get it back, even if you return the merchandise you purchase with amount received. In addition, you must accept any other terms and conditions presented by your wireless service provider that may include specific provisions or eligibility to a particular promotion. Failure to accept the terms and conditions, shall impact your eligibility to participate in this Program."
Maybe I went too deep into the search and this part from above may defer to HTC's specific terms; "Trade-in phones must meet minimum criteria in order to qualify, as outlined on the websitewww.htctradein.com/htc-smartphone".

is the touch pro 2 upgradeable to windows mobile 7?
and is the deal ok with only data plan? not planning on having the voice since I can just install Skype on it and talk for much cheaper.
2, Calling 866-464-8662, press option 3 for new service, and mention promo code "Windows Mobile" when ordering order 5 phones, HTC touch pro2 is free for 2 years contract. No 1-year option.
3, order T-Mobile Even More Plus Plans, 750 min Talk + unlimited Text, The monthly bill will be around $150 59.99 (plan, includes 1st & 2nd lines) + 30 (for 3rd ~5th lines, $10 x 3 phones) + 50 (text service on 5 phones $10 x5) + 25 misc = 165 (roughly)
4, Two years agreement will cost $4000.
5, submit five old qualified smartphones to HTC for trade-in rebates. keep service active for 2 months on the new line, to meet the trade-in rebate requirements. go online to http://www.htctradein.com/T-Mobile/ http://www.T-Mobile.com/shop/phones/Cell-Phone-Detail.aspx?cell-phone=HTC-Touch-Pro-2 and use the promo code TMPRO2 for access. Get $500 back
6, put the SIM into your iphone.
7, Someone may offer you $350 for one HTC Touch Pro 2
8, If two-year contract, the total cost for two year services is $1750 +4000(month bill) -500 (trade-in rebates) -1750 (gift 5 phones) =1750
9, if you cancel the date plan after 20 calendar days. pay the early cancellation fee $200/phone. Keep the out-of-contract account activated with basic Even More Plus plan, pay the transfer fee $35/line The cancellation will cost $1175
10, If you get Even More family plan without data, the monthly bill will be $80. + 49.99 (1st and 2nd line) + 15 (for 3rd ~5th lines, $5 x 3 phones) + 15 misc = 80 (roughly)
Data service for this phone is mandatory. I'm not sure you can get this phone with a data plan only. The Skype service works well on both wifi and the 3G service. The phone will not run Windows mobile 7 as it does not exist now or in the near phone life future. Remember that typical phones have a half life of 6 months to a year. This phone is nearing 6 months. Tmobile and HTC are not incented to continue to spend money on testing new OS's on older phones when customers are demanding new technology and innovation all the time. However, this phone will be getting an upgrade to 6.5.x. The date of the release on that upgrade is up to Tmobile passing the phone through lab.
2, Calling 866-464-8662, press option 3 for new service, and mention promo code "Windows Mobile" when ordering order 5 phones, HTC touch pro2 is free for 2 years contract. I'll ask for the price for a 1 yr. contract...I expect it'll be $50 to $100 more. There are no more 1-year contracts. T-Mobile has gone to 2-year, or NO (requires you to pay full price for the phone), contract plans only.
3, order T-Mobile Even More Plus Plans, 750 min Talk + unlimited Text,
The Even More Plus (EM+) plans are not eligible for ANY corporate/association discounts, so your Freelancers 10% discount will not be applicable. The Even More (EM) plans are eligible for the corporate/association discount, but only on the non-unlimited plans.
9, Two questions remain. can we get the phone with one year contract, instead of 2 years? Cab we get the phone with text only, instead of data plan?
Some have been successful at getting the phone with unlimited text only plan, others have been shot down. I was successful when they had the last free sale at getting it without data or text. I think it depends on the csr you get.
The "windows mobile" promo requires a 2 year contract- no way around that. Several months ago (about 6) I spoke to a regular T-mob CSR about upgrading and was given the option to pay a little more for a 1 year contract but that wasn't through Business Direct and thus was not hugely discounted. So I went ahead and just ordered an extra line of service. TP2 arriving Tuesday.

reshab912 said: I would love to buy this phone... but can we buy it without data plan???? i don't want to have data plan. any suggestions how to get more deals/discounts at T-Mobile while ordering dis phone. Thanks. On my Sat. order, there was no requirement to sign up for anything other than a voice plan. I took the lowest cost plan available for $40/500 minutes period. No text, no data. I have an OOC phone with a better plan but I'll examine my past usage to see the historical maximum and raise the bucket if I think it's necessary. The OOC plan does include $5.99 T-zones which I've had for about 20 months and hope to migrate that later. Free activation, free 2 day shipping, free bluetooth headset. Try out and keep it or return within 20 days. They review your credit worthiness and determine the number of phones you can order.
You might try a 5-line family, instead of just one line. Then your total cost for 2 years service will be $510
The 1st bill will be $115 +60, Even More for Families 750 Talk Plan +30, (3rd ~ 5th line, $10x3) +25 misc =115/month
the total is +2760 (115x24 monthly bills for 2 years) - 500 (five trade-in rebates) -1750 (gift five TP2 phones$350x5) = 510
