Has anybody been able to combine the $10 off $25 coupon with the DIY oil changes deals? If so, what is the secret?

$10 of $25 is for grand opening stores only, check the website for listings.

This is definitely going to make me sound super-dumb, but do you do a DIY oil change at Autozone or at your own home.

Embarassed to ask, but ask I must,

autozone is simply selling you the oil and filter. i don't think they'd be too happy about you jacking up your car in their parking lot and changing your oil there.

Well I've seen people do it and other work at Autozones even though there is a small sign that says it's prohibited and people can be ticketed for it, but the employees don't seem to hassle you too much at my local store but as always YMMV. At their hub store downtown, there are even out of work mechanics that will help out if you pay them their asking price. YMMV with the quality of work there too. And I've seen people at Pep Boys work on their cars there all the time. Depends on the local cops and regulations and how cool the employees are I guess. It would be convenient though. Cuz you don't have to drive back to give them the used oil. Just walk back in.
