Is Dell going to have any deals this year? A few years ago, they were all over the holiday season with online contests, daily specials and some great deals. Was pretty dead last year...

You seem to be right, what a shame. I would prefer a solid Dell deal with a Core2Duo or Quad over everything that is listed here.

Yeah, I was waiting too but managed to get the MSI 6000 Core2Duo Laptop for ~400 after Bing CashBack and credit card CashBack. So, I am OK now and think that that's the best deal of the year so far for a Core2Duo laptop.
I was thinking the same thing. The chips in these things are pretty outdated. Not really worth it, IMO. But thanks OP for the work you put into the post.
I was finally ready to jump on the Gateway refurb i7 deal yesterday but they're out of stock. Micro Center has the i7 920 for $199. By the time you add a MB, DDR3 memory, case etc. It cost more than one off the rack.

I keep thinking about building a new system too, but really, some of the deals are so much cheaper. Of course you get a much faster and more customizable system with a home built, but I don't play many games any more, so it's not a necessity.

Is this the OM Compaq? Is the price going to go down to $239 on Black Friday?
The OM Compaq Presario is a 64 bit. Going to set up my 1st media center comp. Will the 64 bit be a problem? thanks

Here's a dumb question - we need to replace our WIndows 2000 (yes, that's correct!) machine. We already have a nice flat screen monitor, keyboard and mouse. Can you buy just the computer separately, or does it make more sense to buy the bundle?

it all depends. usually when you purchase a desktop (by itself) it just comes with this system, power supply, mouse and keyboard. if purchasing a monitor is not on your to do list, then your probably better off just getting the desktop. but heck, you might find a deal where your just better off purchasing the bundle and if you realize you don't need the monitor, sell it on craigslist.
I bought a Newegg.com "CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra 2019" at Nov 26 evening. After a few hours it sold out. Athlon II X2 245(2.9GHz) 4GB DDR2 500GB ATI Radeon HD 4350 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It has a ATI HD4350 dedicated 512MB graphics. $399 free shipping. It seems best for me, I don't play computer games, but I always need a extra monitor to extend my screen to do some work, this computer provides more than one ports to connect monitors. I also bought a USB wireless adaptor from Newegg for $10. The computer and the adaptor were shipped yesterday. I also bought a LCD monitor from Bestbuy online. It is still in processing. Can't wait to play with new computer!
