they should give you a raise!

Wow, I missed that deal for Best Buy. What a damn good price!

Don't forget to factor the price of getting there at 6pm the night before to stand in line to get the laptop for that price.

ASUS Eee Top ET2002-B0017 Intel Atom N330 1.6GHz All-in-one Desktop PC - $576.99

Regular price?

bestbuy.com might have it.

Good call on the compaq at officemax, that looks like an excellent deal.

of all those, which would be best media desktop?

FrugalFreak said: of all those, which would be best media desktop?

Personally I like the Apple Mac mini Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB - $579.98 at MacMall, which is on sale now for that price. The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics card should be able to play DVD's and Blu-ray smoothly.

will office max allow me to buy that pc online on black friday?

No core i7 deals??

Wow thanks, great list, now if only I can score one

Many thanks, OP!

What laptop are you talking about? From the title of the post thru all postings, it is very clear OP is talking about Desktops.

A Big raise, to be precise

I totally agree, I wonder if it will be available online?

Any idea how the OM compaq compares to the OD compaq?

EDIT: Found some more info. According to one ad, the OM Compaq is CQ5210F (SKU#: 22129901)

CQ5210F Specs:
* AMD Athlon¿ II X2 215 Dual-Core Processor (2.7GHz, 1MB L2 cache, 4000MHz system bus)
* Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
* 3GB PC2-6400 DDR2 system memory
* 500GB 7200rpm SATA hard drive
* SuperMulti 16X DVD burner with LightScribe technology
* 1-year limited warranty
CPU PassMark: 1,617 (compared to Intel Xeon W5590 @ 8,597)

CQ4010F Specs:
* AMD Sempron LE-1300
CPU PassMark: 592

Guess I might as well pay the extra $10 for all the extras in the OM computer.

thanks OP

now which desktop do you guys think is the best deal for a gamer ? a game such as starcraft 2

Any idea if that HP desktop at Best Buy uses DDR2 or DDR3 RAM? Great price though I don't really need the monitor or printer.

bluray is not supported by Apple natively, so good luck with playing Blu-ray on Apple machine

Best Value Winner (Desktop) = Office Max?

Is Dell going to have any deals this year? A few years ago, they were all over the holiday season with online contests, daily specials and some great deals. Was pretty dead last year...

I was unable to find the BestBuy HP/20"monitor. Is this published some place? this is a very good deal...

I think Dell has moved on to entertainment business judging by almost monthly soap opera of price mistake deals and all the associated drama.

You seem to be right, what a shame. I would prefer a solid Dell deal with a Core2Duo or Quad over everything that is listed here.

Yeah, I was waiting too but managed to get the MSI 6000 Core2Duo Laptop for ~400 after Bing CashBack and credit card CashBack. So, I am OK now and think that that's the best deal of the year so far for a Core2Duo laptop.

I'm assuming the Office Max deal doesn't include a monitor. Right?

salaku said: No core i7 deals??

I was thinking the same thing. The chips in these things are pretty outdated. Not really worth it, IMO. But thanks OP for the work you put into the post.

I was finally ready to jump on the Gateway refurb i7 deal yesterday but they're out of stock. Micro Center has the i7 920 for $199. By the time you add a MB, DDR3 memory, case etc. It cost more than one off the rack.

I keep thinking about building a new system too, but really, some of the deals are so much cheaper. Of course you get a much faster and more customizable system with a home built, but I don't play many games any more, so it's not a necessity.

Is this the OM Compaq? Is the price going to go down to $239 on Black Friday?

http://www.officemax.com/catalog/sku.jsp?productId=prod2760049&csRedirectSearchString=22129901&csRedirectSearchResultCount=1&csSearchTag=true&_requestid=24823

Do any of these desktops have an HDMI port?

Update: Added HP to list.

U can buy at MacMall now at these prices...

Is the 21.5" iMac a good deal at 1129? Or stick with Windows and $500 deal at BB?

The OM Compaq Presario is a 64 bit.
Going to set up my 1st media center comp.
Will the 64 bit be a problem?
thanks

Here's a dumb question - we need to replace our WIndows 2000 (yes, that's correct!) machine. We already have a nice flat screen monitor, keyboard and mouse. Can you buy just the computer separately, or does it make more sense to buy the bundle?

it all depends. usually when you purchase a desktop (by itself) it just comes with this system, power supply, mouse and keyboard. if purchasing a monitor is not on your to do list, then your probably better off just getting the desktop. but heck, you might find a deal where your just better off purchasing the bundle and if you realize you don't need the monitor, sell it on craigslist.

Thanks for putting the list together!

Have to say, I'm having a hard time getting excited about any of these desktops, though. Am I just getting numb to good deals?

Skipping 42 Messages...

I bought a Newegg.com "CyberpowerPC Gamer Ultra 2019" at Nov 26 evening. After a few hours it sold out.
Athlon II X2 245(2.9GHz) 4GB DDR2 500GB ATI Radeon HD 4350 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It has a ATI HD4350 dedicated 512MB graphics. $399 free shipping.
It seems best for me, I don't play computer games, but I always need a extra monitor to extend my screen to do some work, this computer provides more than one ports to connect monitors. I also bought a USB wireless adaptor from Newegg for $10.
The computer and the adaptor were shipped yesterday.
I also bought a LCD monitor from Bestbuy online. It is still in processing. Can't wait to play with new computer!
