The FAR printer at Staples is the Canon SELPHY C780. If you bought it for $80 last week (on Friday or Saturday) when Staples was offering the $50 gift card with camera purchase, you should be able to PM it to the $50 sale price on BF or Saturday and get it free. Do NOT let them return/resell the camera or you will lose the gift card (use the original receipt for the printer rebate). If you bought it before Friday, it will be too late for a PM.

I think the Olympus FE 4000 for $99 is a good deal. Olympus makes great cameras, and this one has a nice wide optical zoom which makes for good panoramic shots. I also think the Canon EOS Rebel T1i is a good deal if you are in the market for a DSLR. It has 15.1 mega pixels and shoots 1080 HD video.

Tried to get that deal on the 21st. Didn't work. Seems the extra lens that you had to buy to initiate the $200 rebate was from some other seller,not Amazon,and the rebate did not automatically apply at checkout. I called the customer service rep at Amazon,who in his very bad english told me they didn't know anything about a Canon rebate. That pizzed me off royally! Cancelled the order and will be hard pressed to buy from them again. I can wait for the prices to come down,probably after Christmas. I want the camera,but am not desperate for it.

I was looking over the FE-4000 specs and it doesn't have optical image stabilization which I think is a must if I'm spending any money on a camera nowadays. I wouldn't mind being told why I'm wrong if I am though!

Absolutely not. The "IS" found on Canons uses gyroscope technology and doesn't rely on changing the ISO or shutter speed.

All the camera is doing is using its internal brainpower to configure the best setting. It does have shutter speeds up to 1/1200 but that would require manual control, which sorta defeats the purpose of a point-and-shoot. While the camera will take good images of moving objects or action shots, it'll probably come out grainier due to the higher ISO, and it certainly does not utilize the image stabilizing technology found on Canon's IS or Nikon's VR lenses. The "IS" offered by the Olympus corrects movement of the object at the expense of image quality, while IS on a Canon corrects movement of the photographer.

Yep. The kit lens (18-55mm IS) and the 55-250mm IS lens for an additional $200 is a great deal. Can't even buy both used for $200. If $649 is your budget, you should go for the Canon XSi + 55-250mm bundle that's going on right now. Unless you plan on printing large photos or utilizing the video capabilities of the T1i, the XSi bundle will do everything the T1i does. It's an excellent "beginner's" DSLR.

In my case I bought a different camera that was on sale for $199.00 , the same camera is going to be 179.99 on BF, so I wanted to PM to get the $20.00 difference, but I don't want to loose the gc, I don't care about the printer...how should I do this?

The Canon T1i is currently $719 at Dell before Bing - right here.

20% Bing is available for Dell (search for "Desktop Computer" to get the link), making the revised total $575.20.

When I ordered mine, they threw in free next day shipping (but did hammer me for tax.)

If you can get the Newegg Bing 10% to work, look at the Canon SD1200IS at Newegg. It's $150 today; less $15 CashBack. Google reviews; this is great pocket camera and for ~$135 a great deal. Yes, you pay a bit more for a Canon and, IMHO, well worth it.

^ It's Black Friday, which means TIME is everything before someone else get what I want. So, I don't mean to sound lazy but I just have No time to research. Now that I secured a SD780IS I am researching... with a little breath room.

There is NO question SD780IS IS a great camera, but I don't know if other deals are actually still great for much cheaper.

AlThough, the HD 720 HD video capture seem to STANDOUT on this one, no one else seem to match!
