My local costco has a combo deal on TV/BluRay....If you buy a Sony LCD TV and the $179 blu ray player, they give you $280 off the total.

I bought a Sony with a $200 coupon maybe six weeks ago. Wonder if they'd combine the deal as a return/rebuy/adjustment.

Thanks for the info. In which city and state is this Costco located? Do you recall which Sony's (e.g., size, 720p vs 1080p, plasma vs LCD, etc.) were available and their prices?

This was Independence, MO

The Model is the KDL-40VL160...Basically a W series TV, very, very nice Sony. The 40 inch was $999, 46 wasnt much more

Thanks! They only have 3 Sony's online. I don't see the KDL-40VL160, but they do have a 40" Bravia KDL-40SL150 1080p LCD for $780. I wonder if these 2 models are different enough to justify the price difference or if the in store price was jacked up because of the free Blu-Ray. Unfortunately, there is no sign of the Blu-Ray deal online (unless I missed it). I wonder how many Costco B&Ms are offering this deal.

The 160 has internet connection, not sure if the 150 has that.

Mine had this too, but was only on 40"+ sets

Not to steal the OP's thunder, but if you don't want/need the Blu-Ray, there is a new thread in this forum about BB selling 40" Bravias for ~$600.

If you buy the 461600 TV they give a free 418981 sound system.

Thanks for the info. That deal doesn't appear to be online either. How much were they selling the 461600 for? What's the name of the sound system? What city/state? Did you try a return/rebuy to keep your $200 and get the freebie, or did you go with this deal instead. Sorry for all of the questions

I paid $1299 for the set two months back with a $200 coupon, $1099 net. Wanted a price adjustment to the current $1050 ($50) and they also threw in the promo for the surround sound since that was in effect. The 461600 TV is $1050 and the 418981 surround sound w/ DVD player and lots more is $370.

Added to answer your question:

5.1-Channel BRAVIA®
Home Theater System
5 DVD/CD Disc Tray w/ BRAVIA Sync™, HDMI™ Connectivity & S-AIR™ Surround Wireless
Item # 418981
Crank up volume and experience your movies with sensational surround sound. The DAV-HDX589W/M BRAVIA® theater system boasts an integrated 5 DVD/CD changer, 1000 watts of room-filling power, and an included iPod® dock.

updated: it appears that this promo expired today.

Thanks for all of the details! I'm glad that they gave you the price adjustment and they didn't have to give you the home theater system (I think some stores wouldn't). I love Costco! Even when you can't find rock bottom prices on something, they always stand by their prices and their products.

Does Costco have an official price protection policy?
