This is for the Camera And LENS not just the camera body... That is the difference.
WalMart sells these for $650 as most places around $600
this one is $499 if you don't like the price don't buy it then.

Horrible posting....

Even if you just Google D3000 with lens...you find at least 5 reputable places for under $499

Also, even WalMart has this for $499 w/ lens...so not sure where you got your prices from.....
