From what I read the reference series are generally better speakers. However I think it will be very hard to beat these prices at this range, especially on the -2 models. If you have a bigger budget, by all means go for something superior. But for someone looking to spend less, the B-2, F-2, S-2 and C-2's can basically be built into a 5 speake bundle for like $500's (the shelf series) or 800's (the floor standing series). Throw in a $350 HSU sub. This is near a higher end home theater in a box kind of pricing, and yet they should be able to easily smoke them.
We're talking about 40% discounts off what they've always been sold.
