Saw this at Best Buy in Irving, TX on clearance at $99.99. The lowest price I've seen for a Traffic equipped GPS but reviews are mixed and doesn't have lane assist so I passed. May not be on clearance at your local Best Buy so YMMV.
Just went to Best Buy in Security Square, MD, and, while the clearance wasn't marked, I had an associate check the price on the 1250T and it was indeed $99.99. Awesome, because my old GPS just broke.

You can go to Garmin site and compare different models. I normally compare it with 765t as it has lots of feature. Link
It looks like the 1250T is a Best Buy special version, just like the Garmin Nuvi 255WT. Usually, there is the 1250, which has a 3.5" screen and TTS, and there is the 1260T, which has bluetooth and traffic. But this special 1250T version has the traffic of the 1260T without the bluetooth.
This could explain why this version is getting clearanced.

On my way back to store. Very dissapointed took it on a 35mile trip each way and the screen just kept going beige every other mile for extended period of time

bought one from my local BB with 176 clearance price couple of days ago, can I do a price match later on?
Got one for $99.99 in Tenleytown, DC. Looked like there was one more sealed box.
It was on clearance marked "$109.99" but I asked the clerk if I could get another $10 off, since other stores in the area had it on clearance for $99.99. He checked and found 3 other area Best Buys with it for $99.99 (One was Bowie, MD, I forget which the other two were) so they gave me another $10 off.
If you shop in Tysons, VA or in Fairfax, VA, try asking for a price match with another area Best Buy. They should see the other area stores selling it at $99.99.
Confirmed at Woodbridge, VA BB for $99. None on display, all in a glass case in the GPS section. My wife got one and didn't want me to tell anyone where they were located. Not because we want any more, but because she doesn't like to be helpful. Sigh.

There is a 10% off printable coupon at http://dealspl.us/bestbuy-coupons Just came back from our local BB. They had 1250T for $107.99, then I used the first coupon shown at that website and got $97.19 + tax. So still the same price. For you guys have local BB for 99.99, this coupon may make this deal better. Coupon shows 10% off regular price, but worth a try. It expires today, so there is still some time. Also there is another coupon expires on 11/29, don't know if it works.

For this reason, coupon wouldn't work on a 60%-off clearance item.

The local Independence, MO, store did a $99.99 price match with other stores in the area. The install guy who helped me, looked at the web price ($174.99), then looked at stock avail at other stores, where he found it on sale for $99.99. He price matched the other stores. I bought all 3 they had in stock. There are more in other Kansas City, MO area stores.

Anyone know how many map updates you get with this?

That's unfortunate, my research tends to indicate that Garmin has less reliability problems than tomtom. Has that been other people's experience?

One, to be used within 60 days.
Garmin's first 2009 Map pack came out 1/21/09, if my research was correct. So if you buy the unit, wait a week or two before registering it.
I registered mine yesterday. My last day to get a map pack is 1/22/10. I bet the new map pack will come out on 1/25.
Thanks for the info. Is it 60 days from your purchase date or your registration date? If latter, how many days can you wait before you have to register?

I forgot to request the upgrade on my 780 over the summer, and contacted customer service. They sent me a DVD. Now, I could have held onto that for a while since the key is good for the currently available version should I want to download it. In my case, since the maps on the unit were a year old, I decided to use the upgrade.
It's supposed to be 60 days from when it first accesses the satellite.
