Looks like you have to have an AMEX card to get these offers. When you "sign up to participate in Daily Wish" it asks for an AMEX number...

You do realize the AMEX wish items are a scam, don't you. $100 gift card for $50, qty 150. The qty should be 0, as no one gets this. They promote these to draw you in for the other so-so deals.

I have to disagree with you; I've gotten some things from the wish list.

Ditto here . Infact I got 3 decent withlists items last year at this time . Guess I'll try again this year .
They do this every year. I have been unable to win anything of any value. Have not even been able to get coupons such as 20% off homedepot they had one year, let alone the huge discounted items or gift cards. I'm not positive but in the past I believe you had to have an AMEX card to participate in this. I would imagine your chances are better with the random Amazon selection for their blackfriday hugely discounted deals.

Yes. It's in the terms and conditions for most of the offers. Click 'See More Details'>T&C.

The Nov 30 deal: 2010 BMW 328i for $16,838.00 MSRP: $33,675.00, Qty: 3: hmmm..looks strange. Need to think twice, well I don't know how many times to think as it just is impossible to conceive, especially in this economy

MSRP: $50.00
Total Qty: 150
On sale on Nov 24Shows a total quantity of 75 now, and the sale hasn't even started yet! Looks like some AMEX employees are pulling retail employee stunts, keeping the deals for themselves...
Any idea - is purchase of $200 is necessary in one receipt? (I was referring Idz21's comment on WalMart card)

You realize the people who get these are writing a computer program to automatically click... they are not clicking by hand. In Visual Basic it is made easy with "Dim wb as WebBrowser" and then adding handlers such as, for example:
~ "AddHandler wb.DocumentCompleted, New WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventHandler(AddressOf surfcode)" ~ "AddHandler wb.StatusTextChanged, New System.EventHandler(AddressOf surfcode)"
Then write a subroutine surfcode to do what you want, for example: ~ wb.Navigate() ~ wb.Document.InvokeScript() ~ wb.Document.Forms(x).InvokeMember("SUBMIT")
or a little lower-level command for when the web pages get too complex...for example this is how to send a POST http request, it is useful for several reasons, for example you can simulate pushing a button on a page, even if the button has not yet been added to the page.
Dim addr as string = "http://www.contestsite.com/contestpage.html" Dim formdata as string = "EnterContest.Name=JohnDoe&EnterContest.Birthday=01%2F01%2F1989" Dim wr as Net.HttpWebRequest = Net.WebRequest.Create(addr) wr.Method = "POST" wr.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded" Dim dst as IO.Stream = wr.GetRequestStream() dst.Write(ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetBytes(formdata), 0, Len(formdata) - 1) dst.Close()
The programmer will realize which instructions to program into the subroutine by watching how the events unfold on the first day.

Yeah, that's pretty sweet.
I don't think this is a scam, it's just a different take on some of the other credit card offers. I remember last year Visa or Master Card gave away pairs of cars to lucky card holders. So I can see them giving a way a few grand in gift cards and taking a $14k or so hit on a Bimmer or three. So if they end up giving out $100k or so in discounts, it's really not that big of a deal. These CC companies have mad money for promos like this.

a 30 sec prime time ad on TV is over $250K and AMEX runs a bunch of them every night. A promotion like this is not even a rounding error.
If anybody is hopeful about getting any of these, sorry to bust your bubble, but I'd say you have less than a 1% chance to get anything under a quantity of 100.

Has anyone with Costco AMEX card ever won anything? They probably gave those with the Centurion Card higher probability of winning those WalMart rebates. Oh, wait, why would they want to show their faces at WalMart if you have a black Centurion? They should go to Target instead...
