Acer 10.1" Netbook $199 @ Target Starting 11/22 w/free Neoprene sleeve Tomorrow's Target ad has the Acer AOD250-1165 10.1" netbook for $199, it comes with a free Tuari neoprene sleeve. You can see pics of the same sleeve on an Acer Here LINK The ad shows a specific model, which is only available in blue, and is not sold at target.com, so I assume it's B&M only.

I'd almost rather sleep in and pay the extra $50.

I have an 8" acer netbook and I love it. I checked out the Amazon ratings on the Aspire netbooks, most are 4+ stars, why are you so down on these inexpensive little toys?
If WalMart price matches what is the chance you could take the Office Max ad in and get a price match the day after Turkey day??

Acer 10.1" Netbook $199 @ Target Starting 11/22 w/free Neoprene sleeve where is the TARGET LINKY TO THIS AD? WalMart only price matches the same hours as the office max sale (If they have the item)...
your best bet is to get someone from WalMart to call OfficeMax at 7:00AM to check stock. chances are the limited quantity tickets already gave out to the people waited in line and good luck on OfficeMax answering call and checking stock for you at 7AM
but i was thinking about the same thing. perhaps you can show OfficeMax's ads to WalMart anytime before 7AM and argue that they for sure have stock and see if WM manager buys it. as a mater of fact, i just might try it

Amazon giving out Promotion Applied: -$5.00 at random for customers so I got it for $224 with free shipping and no tax instead of the $229. Target reports limited stock on hand at $199.99 plus the tax and I don't have Officemax in this state so the $150 deal is out of the question for me. Those who report this item as being slow. You just remove the McAfee Security Suite and install Rising Antivirus 20009 International Version which is 100% freeware get that off Cnet downloads. I see Amazon is offering for $40 bucks 2GB of RAM option and $15 for the carrying case. There is also Windows 7 Starter Edition for this model for those who want to use Windows 7 which does look nice. There are a lot of how to videos on youtube showing how to install from USB jump drive. I think this is a great deal for $224 or if you can get one at $199.99 plus tax then too. BF day for $150 you would have to be very lucky to grab one! I am just going to use mine where I don't have to lug a huge 17.3 laptop with everything on it which is also Acer 17.3 for $679.99 That one I got for the wife with 4 flex payment deal off HSN. Acer Aspire One has the mini PCI 802.11(G/N) for this device. I could add that on at a later date and a 6 cell battery too.

I agree. I love the energy savings of the Atom, but I can't stand it when I have to pray that Divx/xvid/h.264 encoded videos play without frames or audio dropped. Online videos don't stream for me in full screen either, as it freezes the picture but still plays the audio in FS mode. Of course, this could be entirely because of the build quality of my netbook. It is a refurb AOA 150-1777 Acer. I haven't ran stress tests to be sure, however.
Any others have the same issues?

A few system tweaks will fix that issue. I'll post fixes when I get my hands on this model. DivX 6.8 is free from DivX and Xvid is also free from opensource site. I see no reason why WMV, MP2,(AVI) DivX, Xvid and MP4 can't play smoothly on 1.6GHz CPU.
I purchased one of these (Exact same one) for $299 about 8 weeks ago at Staples and I LOVE IT!!!! Best darn computer (portable) that I've used in years.
Light, compact, easy to take with me all the time!
if you get an atom - get the one with the hackable ion video. will be far more usable with full screen hd youtube

Be aware that these Acer's netbooks have poor reliability too. I had a similar model fail within weeks with motherboard problems. Saw a SquareTrade survey posted here which confirmed high failure rates for netbooks.

Picked two up at two different Targets, one as a present and one as a spare netbook. Typing on it now, bootup is very fast, especially after removing antivirus software as the post above stated.
Good deal and the case is pretty nice too, retails for 11.99 at Target.
On a side note they also had some Zhu Zhu pets : ).
Thanks OP for a great find

Picked one up today. Pretty nice, especially since I write (type) a lot. It helps to bring it everywhere. It does have a webcam .
Thanks op! Perfect time to get a Target CC for 10% off. You can pay it off in the same visit.

Good deal. Picked up 2 myself here in Bay Area. There were 2 more people after me who wanted to buy the laptop, so I asked the guy to check stock and see if I can buy 2. He looked at the stock and said that it should be fine. The sleeve is nice too. Thanks for posing a great deal!

I guess they're trying to get rid of netbooks that are getting outdated hence no HDMI port
i picked mine up last night, and im going in today to do the price adjustment. (smart thinking on my part). anyway my buddy really made out. he got a refurb from woot and they messed up and sent him a 6 cell w/ blue tooth. his was supposed to be this model...he paid 230....now thats a deal
fyi - the Acer netbook has a 3-cell battery (3 hour battery life). Best Buy has a $229 Gateway netbook with similar specs except with a 6-cell battery for double the battery life: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/969346

HDMI is not needed on a netbook, save that for a real laptop with real power to use it. If you get one with the Nvidia ion video then you can play HD video via your HDMI port.

It is definately slow...but you're not gonna find many (any) other options unless you're willing to buck up for them. The Atom is the Industry Standard at this point.
