Just a suggestion: Never buy Gateway. Commonly known problems: power connector (in the back) will stop working within a year, several other problems and worst part is HORRIBLE customer service.

ACER owns Gateway now! If you look at the model above it's no different than the Acer Aspire One AOD250-1165 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook - 3+ Hour Battery Life that was on sale on Amazon for the same price on 11/21.

isn't a netbook supposed to have 6+ hours of battery juice?

for 3 hours, $230 is pretty expensive.

Gateway 10" netbook with a 6-cell 7-hour battery for $230 at Best Buy: http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/969346

3 cell , 6 cell, 12 cell some 13 cells out there too. All these numbers just mean how well the battery is suppose to hold up in hours. But in real time it's going to be less. 12 cell are really some heavy batteries to lug around with you. You can get more hours out of the battery by reducing the HDD spin and tweak down the blacklight. Intel and AMD used to cut the CPU speed to 1/2 to 1/4 the rated speed in GHz to MHz.
