This is the cheapest Windows 7 quad-core desktop computer deal that I know of. This isn't the fanciest computer, but you are getting a lot for the price.
Includes Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit Powerful quad-core processor lets you multitask without slow-downs. Huge 640GB hard drive holds thousands of songs, photos and documents. Enormous 6GB memory lets you run your most demanding programs with ease. Plays and burns CDs and DVDs. Plus, built-in LightScribe™ technology lets you create and burn your own labels right onto your discs. (LightScribe media is required, sold separately.) Memory card reader for fast, easy photo transfers. Transfer your digital photos, music and other files from 15 types of memory cards. Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit. The newest version of Windows makes everyday tasks simple.
I'd recommend this one. Better quad core (intel), bigger hard drive, but 2gb less ram. $399, no rebate. You might be able to pick up another some extra ram with the $50 you save.

Windows Vista. Do they sell any Windows 7 quad-core desktops in the same price range?
Yes they do. The acer qualifies for the free windows 7 upgrade.
C'mon you people! Buy that dang acer and put it out of stock so I'll stop looking longingly at it every day and measuring the estimated frying pan damage my wife would inflict on me if I bought it!

Wow, just picked this one up about two and a half weeks ago at Best Buy. now this... Anyway, It's a great machine!you can also modify it with another graphics card, and though I am not sure, you should be able to swap out the power supply if needed as it is only 300W. I think most people would enjoy this rig.
Yesterday ran to Microcenter and picked up last HP M9500Y. Already registered for windows 7 upgrade hope it comes fast. I looked at Newegg prices for reference and even building similar PC from scratch will cost more.

Microcenter deal shows up $499 online. Is it in their B&M flyer that shows $399 price in store?

Just called my local MC in Richardson TX and they said its $499.00.
Love HP but I've had a lot of problems with Vista, and AMD processors and lockups, my intel machines always seem to lockup less... But who knows maybe Windows 7 on this machine will work better with them?
