No problems with DVD's. BD picture if great. Problem is a lot of disc skipping, some movies flat out will not even load, and it's incredibly slow starting. It took months after first release just to get a firmware. The 21U is no longer even listed on Sharp.com if you search for a firmware update and I read they will no longer support the model.

also an owner of the hp21u. haven't had any problems with it, but it really is slow. a couple of times, i thought the unit locked up. took like 1-2 minutes a few times to load the disc at startup.

Ugh. Painful to have to wait that long for the disk to play. No thanks.
