Saw some hard drive sales at the N Austin Fry's. Most were so-so, but a couple caught my eye:
Iomega eGo 1TB USB external $79.99 It's advertised as a 7200rpm drive, that's all the specs I could see.
"Major Brand" 750GB bare hard drive $57 This was shown in the newspaper ad. No sales tag on the floor for this. I waited and waited for a customer support goon to help me but they must not have liked the way I looked or something. Typical Fry's non-service.
I think the sale is good through 11/26 or 11/28.
Update from canyouhelpme: 750gb "Major Brand" is a WD Caviar Green for $57. 500gb (WD5000AAKS) WD Caviar Blue for $44.
They are brand new OEM so they should come with full warranty.
These are new drives and should have the standard manufacturer warranty for new items. Only refurbs come standard with 3-month warranties (or less).
Not too many "amazing" deals this season. Find us some better ones, James Boden
