This is a great deal folks. Sears has the Panasonic Viera 54" S1 plasma on sale for $1,099.99 per their Sunday ad today. This is an excellent tv especially considering the fact that the 50" normally sells around this price.

Don't forget 10% additional off if you use your Sears card for purchases over $699. And maybe even Bing Cash Back!!

LINKY

Very good deal on a well reviewed set! Should be able to get $1099.99 - 10% Sears CC - 8% Bing CB = $910.79 plus tax.

$1164.99 from Amazon, but back ordered 4-6 weeks, $1272 from US App (AC ACB w/BD60)$1475 from 6th Ave.

FYI there is a thread in deal discussion where we have been tracking panasonic plasma deals Here

I am not getting the pop up for Sears bing anymore. I go to bing and Sears is there with the money logo but when I click it, there is no pop up. Is this new? Would I get my bing?

However, on one of the page for a tv it says this...."Get 8% CashBack from BING" right above this " As low as $10 per month with your Sears Card"

This is a GREAT deal. Was hoping for the 50" S1 for under $1000, now I can get the 54" for under $1000 with a new Sears card. Thanks for the heads up!

If you get the bing icon on the site you're probably ok. If you want to be sure, try clearing all your cookies, make sure you're not logged into bing, try a different browser/computer etc. It is very reassuring to see that log in screen!

Even though bing says 2-8%, I got only 2% in my CashBack account, anybody else has this problem ?

weird. If I go through bing, the price for the set is $1499.

edit: nevermind. It may say 1499 on the product page, but in the cart it is 1099.

I purchased the set yesterday and had no problems, the BCB showed up at checkout for ~$87. While I haven't received notification that I've received the BCB, I am not too worried about it. I also got the prompt at checkout about Sears sending Microsoft the purchase information for the BCB.

good deal, too bad no VGA.

Will this still be on sale Thursday or Friday? I hear bing $ may be up then

I don't understand the whole negative ding on not having a VGA port. You and CNET both consider this a fault.

My philips LCD does not have one either and I could care less.

If you really want to output your vga only laptop or desktop to the tv, just get a vga-->component adapter. Maybe even a vga-->dvi-->hdmi would work, although I'm not positive on that. The adapters are not terribly expensive. VGA is already being phased out on most newer laptops with the exception of netbooks. Even your basic Dell desktop now comes with hdmi integrated. It's the same issue with S-Video. Who the heck cares about S-Video anymore!?!

Joel

The final price in my shopping cart is still $1099. CSR said I need to go to the store and ask for 10% discount!! Anyone have this problem?

Also I am not able to see 8% BCB as suggested...

I got my 10% off in the store, no issues with that.

Does anyone know if you can pay off your Sears card with gift cards? The reason I ask if if you go to Kroger (or any of their stores) right now you can buy a $100 Sears GC for $90. IF you can...

$1100 - 10% (Sears card) - 8% (BCB) = $910 + tax, assume 7%, $970

Then pay with $970 in GC that you purchased for $873!

no

Some of us have older PC equipment that might not have a DVI out, etc. And VGA -> component is not as easy or cheap as a straight cable adapter. If I'm not mistaken it req's a signal converter. It's not a ridiculous amount, but it's one more purchase and connection that needs to be made (less I remind you we are all value oriented).

I think the point is that VGA input comes standard on many lower priced models and the lack of that connectivity detracts from the deal for some. Some people like you may not care about it (and more power to you), but some people like me, superflysocal and apparently CNET may note it as a reduction in value.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Sweet TV. I have the 50" version. Good deal here.

How do you get the 10% discount from Sears, it is not working for me

I too only see it listing as 2% CashBack on bing shopping.

i've been trying to figure that out myself... people are saying that they did it, but how? didn't it show up in the cart?

the Sears 13% CashBack notice is working correctly now.

EDIT: o.k., i see extra 10% off w/Sears credit card, purchases over $699, on black friday:
http://www.Sears.com/?intcmp=SCxSW_PLUS_0_S

Actually, I just tried to place order and I got
1. 8% BCB only, but I think that is easily rectified with email to BCB
2. Don't see the instant 10% off with Sears CC, so not sure what to do about that. Place order page still puts it at $1099 + tax

Any suggestions?
Maybe I'll try tomorrow.

I got the Bing 8% to show up but not the 10% off for using the Sears MC, so I did an online chat with Sears and they said they would give me the 10% credit, so I then placed the order and asked for an e-mail confirmation for the credit. They stated they could not do that, but assured me I would get the credit. We will see.

Yeah, maybe will place order on Friday and see if the system admins can straighten out the small glitches. Over on SD, seems people just call in and get the adjustment, which is an extra step, but not a big deal. We'll see!

Won't this affect your bing?

Not sure, but it does say pending on my Bing account: November 25, 2009 Sears $87.99 Bing Pending
(But what does that really mean?) Do you know of a reason why it might not be paid?

I have had great experience with Bing. If the Cash Back does not appear in 2 days after your purchase just email Bing and they usually respond within an hour and provide them the details they ask for and Bing will credit your account. They have so far not denied any Cash Back for my purchases. Pending means that it takes 60 days to get your Cash Back available in your account.

Seems to be OOS.

I just called a Sears CSR who was wonderful. Their web site does not give the 10% off with a Sears card as it is suppose to do. The sales rep waived my $65 shipping charge for home delivery scheduled for tomorrow and my Sears card did not work so she let me use an AE card which extends the warranty for an additional 1 yr and she still gave me the 10% off. Not the same as a 23% discount with the Bing 13% and Sears Card 10% off but good enough for me.

had to call Sears to get the 10% discount with the Sears card, but it worked perfectly, all they needed was the order confirmation number.

got the bing popup for being ontrack for bing CashBack, but no sign of bcb anywhere on the Sears checkout pages... i wish that i knew how you guys got that.

waiting to see if bcb shows up in my bing account...

Ordered the P54S1 on 11/28 and I (finally!) just received my Bing CB email stating that I had $143 in BCB pending.

When I made the purchase, the Sears Card 10% off was automatically taken off and my checkout price was reduced to $989.99 ($1099.99 - 10%) and it stated that I was due to get $128.70 back in Bing CashBack, which was 13% of $989.99. But it looks like Bing decided to give me the 13% on the full $1099.99 price.

Thanks Bing!
