Is there a link for this? Or to a BF circular for Staples? Seems like the best price you listed for the 255W... but there site doesn't even have that model. Thanks in advance!

I might gift a 255W for the parents though, that one seems like a really good feature/price mix at $119.
Also B.Buy is offering the car holder for $14.99 on BF v. Amzon $23.xx.

Thanks.Furthermore, my understanding is that some of the Bluetooth GPSes work well as hands-free devices, whereas others are just marginal (in sound quality). If anyone has guidance (no pun intended)* concerning how well the speakerphone function works, that would be very helpful....(for example, I believe I read that tomtom's hands-free operation is clearer in general - but I don't know if that's just one reviewer's opinion, or a generally known factor).

Amazon has the 260 on sale for $119...though I'm not 100% sure what the differences are.

I'm not one for buying annual services, so I'm looking for alternatives. Which ones have re-route features that work well and/or lifetime traffic information?
Bluetooth is also a nice add on, but not a deal killer.
Garmins do NOT come with any map updates beyond the current 2010 map - if you buy a Garmin that has been sitting in a warehouse for a few months and does not have the latest, 2010 version of the maps, it will update to that (must be done w/in 60 days of purchase) but you can't get any other free maps. They cost $69.99 for one update, $119.99 for lifetime updates. This is per Garmin customer service this afternoon.
That kind of sucks. My old Garmin 550 got me pretty badly lost a few months ago when I went into the downtown area of a nearby city that has recently had a lot of road construction projects that were obviously newer than the last map update my unit had from several years back. I just don't want to spend as much as an entire new GPS on map updates.
Any thoughts on what might be the best value in a $120 GPS - is it this Garmin 255w or something else? It will be a gift for my nearly 70 year old mother in law whose driving skills have deteriorated lately and I want the unit that will be easiest to see and use and be the least distracting to her.
FYI, if you go with one of the GPS deals (or any other deal) from Radio Shack, go to one of the stores this week at an off-peak time, buddy-up to one of the sales people and ask if they would hold one for you on Friday morning. Since they get commissions, my local sales guy offered to do that for me (in front of his manager, so I think it must be kosher) provided I call him to remind him on Wednesday and show up within the first hour after they open at 5:30 a.m. Sure beats having to stand in line freezing like all of the idiots.
EDIT: turned out the RS sales guy and the manager were just pulling a scam to induce me (and anyone else to whom they made similar promises) to get to the store early on BF. They didn't hold my items as promised and the manager not only claimed he didn't remember his sales guy promising me he'd hold my stuff for the first hour after they opened on BF, but also claims that wouldn't be allowed since it was against company policy. What a crock of BS.

btw, green OP.
The 129 deal on the Garmin 255wt is a great buy IMO. You get free lifetime traffic and text to talk. The only thing you dont get with this is bluetooth. They arent usually great on GPS devices anyway. I purchased this instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882507002&...
It still comes out cheaper than the Garmin 265wt which has bluetooth. You get a far superior bluetooth device if you buy it separately.

If the RS sales people work on commission, what difference will it make whether he sells it to you or one of "the idiots" (as you put it)? What's wrong with that picture?
Does anybody have experience with foreign maps on these devices? Looking for a cheap way to add New Zealand map to the GPS since I will be travelling there in about 3 months.
I had a Magellan GPS that served me well for a year or so. Now that I have an Android phone with turn-by-turn nav, there's no point in having a separate GPS. For the price of these GPS-only devices you could get an Android based phone on Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile. I hear AT&T will also be offering an Android phone.
Anyone know if you can use a FLASH SD card to view pictures on the Garmins? Wanting to buy one of the 205 or 255w's for xmas for the hubby - cheaper than a Cuddeview card reader for his trail cameras so he can view the pics on spot.
255w doesn't have life time traffic, 265T does, and it's not 130 dollars

With a bluetooth enabled GPS, whenever you are on the phone, the GPS voice prompt will automatically mute. Also, when you search POI, you can dial their numbers directly from GPS.

Looking at the comparison chart on Amazon it doesn’t show that the 255 has Lifetime traffic and it shows that it comes with an "Optional Receiver" for the traffic. Where are you seeing that it comes with Traffic? If that is the case then the 265T or WT (Wide) is in fact a better buy and actually it’s $192.xx on Amazon right now.

Uhhhh, duhhhh, maybe he will get stuck helping someone decide which $19 radio controlled car to buy or whether they should go with the four-pack or eight pack of AA batteries while another salesman gets the credit and commission for selling the $120 GPS??? A bird in the hand is better than a single bird in the bush, especially when there is more than one hunter.
My reference to idiots meant anyone who stands in line outside of a store for untold hours in the cold, just to save some bucks on a deal. I'm sorry caeteris, if you are one of those people - I wasn't intending to name-call anyone in particular. If you want, though, I can expand my definition to include people who use the phrase "What's wrong with that picture" when, ironically, they don't see the big picture at all.
Howie411 said: Its the tom tom XL 335s, I cant find any info on it and comparing it on tom tom's website it seems identical to the 330S
It's closer to the 340S without Mexico. The 340S has Lane Assist where the 330S does not. At $95 after $55 off at Costco B&M it looks to be a solid deal.

Geez singleye and shahhere try properly reading BlueHorde's reply before disputing what he says.
He SAID that the 255wt is $129. 255wt DOES have lifetime traffic. Watch your model numbers!!!
