Does anyone know how the speed of this 8GB SSD compares to the 160GB SATA 5400 RPM drives in some of the other deals?

It also has a 4-cell battery and you can upgrade the HD from 8gb to 16gb ssd for $50

How does this compare to the deal at target right now?

XP vs linux
160gb vs 8gb

etc etc etc

People say Acer has bad quality but after receiving a Dell refurb netbook (which by definitions should have been checked out thoroughly) with no audio and then pure scratching after loading a new driver.... I'd vote for "either one might suck".

Nice deal. Heavy-typers be warned of a cramped keyboard.

can this play 720p movies without choking?

Probably not, plus the resolution is lower than 720p resolution.

i'd say pony up 50 bucks more and get a mini 10v from the outlet. night and day difference when it comes to usability.

also with 8gb ssd you wont be able make a useful hackintosh out of this.

I'm getting a Mini 10v purely based on the screen size, 8.9" seems way too small IMO. You sure it can't do 720p, my old Dell 1.7 with 512 RAM did it just fine.

No free shipping for this item.

Sold out. Tried to get this now that the 20% Bing Cash Back is live and it's all gone.

You just might get a piece of crap one like I did, no audio out of the speakers besides scratching hissing.

Dell has the A90 available today with 16GB SSD for $209.

meh, it's overprice.
