hell, I have two of the these, both have latest fw that is supposed to correct the problem, and one still clicks nonstop, and the other doesnt. I have to rma the clicker week, and sadly, seagate does not offer a trade up on this model when you rma.
I have always bought seagate, but stay away from this model. my 2cents
We have 4 of these in a RAID 10 and they drop out of the RAID once per week. They came with the new firmware and they still have problems. Need large drives for HD video editing & thought these were the ticket... They were fine until we had them about half full. Then all of the problems started. They are well-cooled and totally stationary. The problem is definitely the firmware....
WD RE2 and RE3 drives are the best for RAID, but you pay more... So far our WD BLACK drives have worked well in RAID setups....
