fyi, i used PAYPAL for the purchase hoping it was a extra level of protection for me. Then i rebooted my pc, cleaned my cookies and reset/CHANGED my PAYPAL password, because I had to link from the stores website to make the purchase.
PS found the link for 531dvdwholesale on a add/offer when I was searching for Beatles goods on Amazon.COM
Congratulations. You bought bootleg Chinese crap. You probably could have gotten the same thing for about $16 in China.

- Deal too good to be 'real' - Prior experience with this specific vendor - Assumption that this type of product from a Chinese vendor is flawed - ...other
I think I am a savvy consumer and I don't know the reason for the 'consensus' that these are obviously flawed goods. I would appreciate the benefit of your experience in this evaluation.

I registered on this site in April and I've been silently waiting for the OP to post this 'ad' for the Chinese company which is less than a week old so that I could post the question which is likely on the minds of several others.

And I got one! Finally I was in the right place at the right time.
Has anyone seen any other Beatles Box Set deals? I was originally planning on the Mono box set, but at the $99 discounted price for the Stereo -- there's no way I could justify it.

With all the "confusion" going on at the stores Black-friday, I was able to PRICE MATCH :>D the $119 add from the www.dvd531wholesale.com and BY GOSH, I walked in the door, checked my PC for more deals and SCORED another box set from Amazon for $99
While I am sure these are good, they are not made from the original Master tapes but the EMI British masters which are from a second generation master. Having both the EMI releases and the 1982 Mobile Fidelity original masters series (Serial No 1204) done by George Martin there are some differences. The Rubber Soul and Revolver CD's appear to be the 1987 remix and not the original mix. The original stereo mix is on the mono set apparently.

First the "Chinese Pirate" comment appears to be bogus as EMI has authenticated them. My comment on quality is for real purists. The Mobile Fidelity used Yamaha's direct to disk technology. The LP's made using the Yamaha molds are third generation. Studio master 1st, disk mold second and LP third. EMI master tapes(record label masters Capitol here in the US) are second generation. A third generation tape was made for the 1987 releases and includes a remix(not done by George Martin) of Revolver and Rubber Soul. EMI then "remastered" the tapes using the 3rd generation source and the person(s) doing that were not George Martin. So the masters for these are at least 4th generation. The CD's are at least 5th generation and you do not get the original George Martin mix on Revolver and Rubber Soul. Martin was called the 5th Beatle for a reason. So if you are old enough as I am to remember the originals then there will be differences.
Everything said and done these CD's may well be the best you will find today. Mobile Fidelity did a second and third pressing of the LP's. There were perceptible differences from early in the first pressing 5000< and the third pressing 25,000-45,000. To keep my records clean, I use a high end Sony cassette tape machine and metal particle tapes for every day listening. I replace the tapes every 3-4 years and the records get played for that and special events.

ps When I compare the outside of the Amazon purchased boxset and the 531dvdwholesale.com boxset there is very slight difference.
