I was looking for a good mid-range microwave too. I spent a couple hours looking (time flew by!) and here's my opinion on the ones listed above....
I can't really speak on the Sears 25% kenmore appliances because I was trying to price match the closest deal to the BF ones w/o buying something that will burn out in 6 months or be an obvious fire hazard. WalMart Sunbeam Microwave $18- the cheapest deal but i have found reviews from random googling that this is a big fire hazard, so not worth it. Target Rival 0.7Cu Ft 700 Watt Microwave $24 - It's Regular $50 so not bad being half off. Only problem is I couldn't find reviews on this Rival microwave. From the target scan it looks like it says No. RGD J701, I still couldn't find any review, and its not even listed on Target's website, So IMO its not lookin too good if they're hiding this and not other items from there ad... HomeDepot 0.7 CU. Ft. 700-Watt Microwave $25 - you can actually go to homedepot's website and order it now, only problem is, I was wondering what brand it was. If you look at it, there is no brand which led me to believe if this is some kind of Home Depot brand? This one looked kind of sketchy too, so I wouldn't get it... Macys Haier Countertop Microwave Oven (After Rebate) $30 - It's 49.99 right now with rebate, so if you go to Macy's website, it looks like you can get the rebate now. Looks like a nice microwave, and definately a really good price. This one I'm personally considering, but I'm not the biggest fan of rebates (never get some of them back, while other I do). Sharp 0.8 Cu Ft 800 Watt Microwave $40- Couldn't find this so can't give an opinion. There's no link here. Kohls Magic Chef Microwave Oven $40 - It'll be $59.99 BF before $20 rebate making it 39.99. I have a white one at home and have seen a few others that have held up for quite a few years surprisingly, so this looks like a good deal too....0.9 cubic ft 900watts. HomeDepot Rival 1.1 Cu Ft Microwave $48 - I think the reviews on Home Depot weren't too good on this one, but would rather go with the Target deal above for $23 less if your set on a Rival. (but see above why I wouldn't get it if you havent already). Kmart Kenmore 1.1 Cubic Foot 1100W Microwave $55- This looks like an ok deal. On Kmart's website the microwave's say sold by Sears underneath most of them and the Kenmore 1.1 cubic foot ones are about $80 and up as of right now. The Kenmore Black Kenmore .7 cubic feet Counter Top Microwave is 55.95 right now....so you're saving around $30 if you get the BF deal. I know this isn't a listed BF deal but for the reviews on WalMart site from people who bought it and the price, its not too bad GE 1.1 Cubic Foot Black Microwave for $64 My opinion is the Kohls one is the best priced one that won't burn your house down. (Just my experience with Magic Chef microwave's in the past, at home and at work where there's like 5 of them of all different models.) I most likely will be getting this one from my local Kohls too to heat up the leftover turkey the next day jtm  Hoped I helped some. --Pam |
