Product Description
Ken Burns tops himself with this epic of American history, told in "nine innings," with a skilled narration by John Chancellor and the voices of Paul Newman, Jason Robards, Billy Crystal, and other stars. The series spans 150 years, starting with the myth-debunking tale of baseball's true beginnings -- when it was a game "one degree above mayhem." Then follow the growth of America's National Pastime through the decades of glory and record-setting achievements, as well as the scandals, the bigotry, and the big money. The series portrays the game as a mirror of America itself -- the passions, prejudices, and ambitions that have shape the country.

It's $48.39 shipped at DeepDiscount after coupon code 7PALJQQVUQ. Link

Shows as OOS in the cart, but DD has always come through (eventually) on backordered titles for me.

You MIGHT also be able to get 4% Bing CashBack, although they are likely to negate the CashBack if you use the coupon. Doesn't always happen, however.

Thanks ktg. Are you sure we can use coupons on out of stock items?

So that's 2 bucks cheaper? I'd rather pay the extra couple bucks and get it now from Amazon

I ordered one today and it took the coupon without a fuss.

A valid consideration if you need it in time for a gift. If the Bing CashBack (4%) comes through, it would actually be about $4 less than Amazon. Of course, YMMV on that---we all know the Bing policy is to deny the CashBack if you use a coupon, but sometimes (often in my experience, so far) it flies under their radar.

Just FYI, DD shipped my copy today. However, the product still lists as OOS when you put it in the cart at DD.

I read over at DVDTalk that Ken Burns is going to re-release the set sometime within the next year, and include an extra "10th inning" disk. Maybe something about the steroid abuse scandals? So you completists may just want to wait until that edition comes out.

Yeah, I saw that over at DVD Talk as well. Already had ordered at Amazon, and was shipped too.
