EDIT: Hey, I thought this thread had dropped off the map! Yes, apparently, DO NOT go in and ask questions. Just purchase the bundle and the register will inform the cashier of the rest. YES PS2 AND OLDER BUNDLES ARE INCLUDED ON THIS PROMOTION! Get em while they last! The sale ends Friday!
Sorry if this deal is posted elsewhere, I looked but didn't find it.
Anyways, just got back from Wal-Mart. Turns out they are having an unadvertised sale on Guitar Hero, Band Hero, and DJ Hero bundles. Buy one bundle and recieve a $40 Wal-Mart gift card instantly. This applies to all PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii bundles. I was told that there are no limits on how many bundles you can buy, and you can use the gift card you recieve on one bundle to apply to the purchase of another bundle.
I personally loaded up for CHEAP Christmas gifts.
For example: I purchased the Aerosmith 2 guitar bundle for PS2 for $50. I recieved a $40 gift card, and used it on a Guitar Hero 3 PS2 bundle and recieved another $40 gift card. I cleaned my store out of PS2 and PS3 bundles. After gift discounts, PS2 bundles ended up being around $10 + tax each and the PS3 World Tour bundles were $15 + tax each. Merry X-mas to me!
I just confirmed the deal at another Wal-Mart in my area. Have no idea why it is not advertised.
OP, where is your area? I just went to San Jose WalMart this afternoon, and asked the staff there, she told me only Band Hero, Guitar Hero 5, DJ Hero can get $40 gift card. I hope I can get Guitar Hero world tour with $40 gift card....
anyone found where I can get Guitar Hero World Tour with $40 gift card?
Johnny & Prncsnyc - Big Lots has Guitar Hero World Tour for $38.99. It should be nationwide as it was adverised in their sales ad. I know it's not as good of a deal, but it's the cheapest I've found it.
Ok... I went to 3 different wal-marts in my area. Two of the three had no information at all about the deal. 1 did.. The one that did had a small sign stating details. Buy any Guitar Hero, Band Hero, DJ Hero OR Tony Hawk Bundle receive a $40 GC till 11/28/09 While supplies last. Note although 2 of the stores did not have a sign and the associates at all stores knew very little; all 3 stores scaned the bundles and were then prompted to give the gift card. Hope this helps!
local best buy (chico, ca) had band hero bundle for 199.99 with 50 off instantly for total 149.99 and guitar hero 5 bundle was 99.99 with 40 gift card.
Got in on the Amazon.com Band Hero for the 199 plus 40 gift card. It is the Taylor Swift version instead of "normal" version. Not sure what the difference is, but it is also more convenient, and with the taxes at Best Buy it is a wash.
This worked @ WalMart in Sterling, VA with no problems. Now if I could just figure out how to do it online so I get the 15% bing CashBack.

@tmonster12, would it be prompted the $40 gift card promo when you scan Guitar Hero World Tour?
Yes. When they scan it it will come up.
I just rushed to the WalMart I went yesterday, grabed one Guitar Hero World Tour bundle, went to cashier to ask scan it, and $40 gift card promo shows up! Don't bother asking staff there, they know very little about it.
tmonster12, Thanks!!!!
@Prncsnyc, go to your local WalMart, I believe it works. good luck!
yes, ps3 bundles also. I picked up GH world tour and GH 5 for PS2, got two $40 store credit cards.

Ugh, I bought World Tour Bundle for Xbox 360 today and I did not receive a gift card.
Can you tell if the cashier is prompted to give you a gift card? Meaning, I was looking to see if there was any indication on the register display and did not detect one...

I think this worked at my WalMart, but the cashier couldn't figure it out and kept hitting cancel when it asked to swipe shop card. I don't shop at WalMart much, but am thinking swipe shop card means swip through a gift card so it can put the $40 on there. If so, I should have gotten a wii guitar hero legends for $50 and gotten a $40 gift card.
I picked up World Tour band bundle, but their were guitar bundles also, with the same $40 card deal. The band kit was $99, and the guitar kit I think was around $69 (PS2).

Or not. lol Cashier was clueless for my checkout also. Had to call supervisor who also was clueless, then called back to electronics, and they also seemed a little confused. The deal does come up on the register automatically, but you may have to explain it to them.

Thanks. For me, you could tell, yes. It says something on the register display, and the cashier then - in my case - becomes confused.
